B7 to B5 RS4 anyone experienced it?

Post by kd » Mon Oct 20, 2014 10:03 pm

Hi just wondering if anyone has gone from B7 RS4 to B5 RS4? I have searched and seen quite a few posts the other way round.

I originally had a B5 which I absolutely loved and moved to the B7 which was such a different car good and bad, but now after spending a lot getting mine to perfection I may need to sell to free up some cash and was thinking of getting back to the B5 fold. I know going to the B7 it was more comfortable and refined but now I am used to that (and the sound :-) wondering how it would be, seeing if anyone has experience going back to a B5?

I know they are totally different cars so not trying to compare like for like, just seeing what peoples experience may be

KD

I own both, I drive the B5 daily and the B7 sparingly. As you know the B7 is far more refined. But the B5 is a great car (mine is lightly modded but no performance mods). We are planning a long driving holiday over Xmas doing probably 5000km and doing it in the B5. It's comfy, sure footed, plenty powerful enough and practical.

Different to the B7 but still a joy

And that turbo kick is special

Hope that helps

Hi Graze,

Thanks very much for that, good to hear that from someone with both and taking the B5 on the long run. I have to say I loved the town driving of the B5 with those turbos :-) The kick of that is hard to beat. I think I might have to take one on a test drive and get a feel from them again. I sold my old one to a forum member but I believe that one has been sold on or would have tried to find that one again... saying that I have always wanted a B5 in black and mine was avus.

Thanks

K
