I do not notice my car being noisy and went for the new Miltec system with the 100cell cats .
If you ask the car to perform it sounds like a rocket .
If you are gentle with it it is relatively quiet.
If you are cruising at 80 + it is not noticeable at all.

I have the system so my car has less restrictions and this in turn offers more reliability long term.

The cost of the full system is best value.
If you are going to do a job do it right.

The Miltec is great value and easy to get fitted.

with some proper code and every thing in perfect condition under the bonnet (DV's MAF LAMDA's and no leaks not easy mind you) your car should be at 470 bhp / 610 nm.

All for little money

I know I can't Spell please correct this if you feel the need. If you can't spell How do you work a spell checker! DAA.. have a guess
You've missed my point. Is the stock exhaust actually restrictive? I have played with downpipe configurations for years and know exactly how restrictive cats can be, and how much spool can be gained by going for a larger Downpipe. If anyone wants to hear "soul" they can come for a ride in my Supra, but because of it's "soul" I am tired of it, hence the proposed switch to an RS4. If the stock exhaust is not restrictive, I certainly wouldn't be changing it. The Downpipes are a very different matter

LOL @ arsesoul!!!

It's too poetic I admit - lets call it aural character instead then! I've always loved hearing a nice sounding engine (the exhaust generates no noise after all - it merely permits you to hear the engine, or not) which this RS4 has in abundance.

It's the reason i once bought a TVR and not a 911. I guess it is also linked to how large your show off gene is ;)

Having just been to the Autosport Show at the NEC I spoke to Milltek for a while as to why they revised the design for the RS4 exhaust. Seems they acknowledge the annoying resonance of the original set-up and have engineered that out. Also by revising the flow of gases down the exhaust the system is worth 10bhp on its own. I now hope to add this exhaust and a remap before too long.

How restrictive would an exhaust have to be to cost you 10bhp as a result of built up pressure?
How do you think this would affect the responsive ness of the car and torque figures?
Would you agree that freeing up the strangulation on you car is kind hearted?

I think the system's sound is consequential . But its nice and the pipes are well designed.
The new one does not have any resonance to the best of my knowledge.

You may have seen the light, Guys but Miltec are simply making the car better. If you want improvements combined with sympathy towards the vehicle pay the money and enjoy the roar.

I'd prefer to be loved by 100 people than just 1.
Sad show off etc.

As DaveP says you only live once.

Mine sounded a little loud and irrtating at various low revs, on kick off at higher revs was amazing..
...
..Only when i had it mapped you could really appreciate the RS4's power and the Milltek sounds more smoother and quieter with a slight warble...

Milltek is fine, is you can afford the cats..go for it..!

so if i have the stage 1 oettinger chip, would i need a recoding of the chip if i went to a full milltek system?
or does the oettinger chip accomodate for this already?
i read somewhere a while back that i wouldn't need to but a lot of people seem to get a remap anyway.
so i am wondering which it is

To get the full benefit of the full milltek, you need to get a remap...but as I understand it you're unlikely to cause harm by not having a remap, you just won't be exploiting the full potential of the setup.
