Just as an update to this post....
I ended up getting the KSport Discs and calipers with the YellowStuff pads.

It took about 1000miles to bed them in, lots of grumbling noises until then. Well worth the wait though, the bite on them is excellent, miles better than the stock caliper/discs, it really does stop on s sixpence so I am well happy with this setup, for price and performance they are really good.

Needless to say the steering wobble has gone and they feel like they could stop a steam train..... :)

Take a look at these beauties.... :)

I seem to recall that KSport offered a rear option too, but dont quote me, my priority was getting the fronts sorted and the balance of front and rear still feels pretty good.

Just for the record......I had a similar problem with a Cayenne. I had the discs and pads replaced as I was told the discs were warped and 2 months later they started 'wobbling' again. The dealer replaced the discs under warranty and a couple of months later it happened again. To cut a long story short Porsche were suggesting all sorts of possibilites including tyres but it ended up being one slightly buckled wheel on the front end which meant you couldnt feel it when you were driving until the discs started to get warped and it would take a couple of months of driving to feel the discs warping. They replaced the wheels and skimmed the discs and the problem was solved. Skimming discs isnt perfect but its a darn sight cheaper than replacing both discs and pads......just my tuppence worth. Summary: You have to change the wheels or straighten them up or it will keep happening regardless of how good your braking parts are...

I dont disagree with what you are saying about the wheels, my oval wheels probably did contribute to the braking wheel wobble, but i think I mention above I took my wheels to get straightened out before I had my discs calipers changed. For me it was not only the braking wobble but the general feel/bite of the stock setup, now I have these 8-pot calipers it has transformed the feel, the braking power and in my view the safety of my car. Its personal preference I know, but I think the outlay for the KSport brakes was worth it in my view, simply skimming the discs would not have cut it for me.

Yes, sorry I wasnt disagreeing with your judgement and choice and I did read you had had the wheels straightened first. I just thought I'd fire in what happened with a car I had in case someone ended up reading this and didnt know their options and perhaps had suffered some of the hassle I had. I bet the KSport brakes were well worth it and they look great.

why would an off balance or bent wheel affect the brake disc?

That is EXACTLY the ongoing discussion I was having with Porsche! It took about a year and they (eventually) loaned me wheels and tyres to prove it as they said it wasnt likely to be the wheels as it didnt make sense. Loan wheels fixed the problem. Nobody could figure it out but that is what it was, which is why I posted my comment on this. Anyone fancy a suggestion? I know there are some very knowledgeable wheel people out here.......

if you take it to a good 4 wheel aligment place they can tell if your wheels are buckled

I can imagine that as the wheel is effectiveley bolted to the base of the disc/rotor, if the wheel is buckled it will put some sideways force on the disc itself. It doesn't suprise me that buckeld wheels will eventually bend discs. Then again I'm a complete numpty that knows almost nothing!
