If this car shouldn't even be on the road, then shouldnt ebay be informed about this as someone could end up getting stiffed bigtime???

Think the issue is that eBay don't care one jot - as long as they make money out of the sale that's all they care about.

Autotrader arent much better - so many obvious scam adverts but they don't have a 'report this ad' link and let adverts get placed with obviously invalid phone numbers yet when you do a car search, if you get your postcode even slightly wrong it wont go any further!
Pistonheads seem to best.

I spoke to the owner a few days ago. He immediatley told me it was a write off... fair play to him. Still, he should say that in the trader ad..

fair play to him but really he does need to add this to his add, its almost like he's hoping to sell it to someone who doesnt think of asking. I asked him it it had ever been damaged and he said it had had rear end damage but he didnt mention anything about being written off??? Crafty!!

I had the same worry 15 months ago, advice on here said no worries, as long as a good check over. I got a 99ker, i have had the best 15 months motoring of my life, Its been faultless other than a few sensors etc, get a check from a specialist , unit 20 mrc etc.
I have the cambelt change coming up, but you know your car will be in tip top condition.
