IIRC Audi recommend every 40k on the RS4.

Yes.

I'm pretty sure the RS4 has a lower interval than other 2.7T's.

I'm sure someone will come along and confirm...

Hi Jay,
I have had my car for nearly four years now and done two cambelt changes. When I had the car it was on long life oil servicing which i continued with for the first year, however this lead to the cam chain tensioners needing replacing along with my last cambelt change, which was quite a bit of engine work!
I would definately recommend checking to see if the car has been on long life oil servicing, and if so change to normal oil and more frequent changes.
The first sign of the cam chain tensioner problem on cold start is a slight tinkle / metalic sound coming from the front of the engine on the right side, and the rear of the engine on the left side, (viewed from the front of the car).
What is happening is that the chain tensioner which is an oil filled piston, looses its pressure and allows the cam chain to go slack.
Good luck with the purchase.
