Was just about to post the link to Pistonheads - but strangely, it's been removed....
It was a dark blue (possibly Ming?) 2001 B5 Avant with black leather and "only 6000 miles" but with a knackered gearbox, all yours for only £12995!
Think the rat has been well and truly smelt by the sounds of it - come on Varsity, a few more details pleeeease!

Re: RE: Advice needed please
Thanks for that. Colour looks like Mugello to me. I'm not usually a fan of any of the special order colours, but I'd have that one.TopBear wrote:Its all about this car http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/228924.htmJarv wrote:And, for those of us who haven't got a clue what this thread is going on about, the colour was?lengster1 wrote:bit of a so so colour though dont you think

That estate agent sign is from an agent in Wigston, Leicestershire so Varsity may have something.
Exclamation mark symbol on DIS is not good, engine bay looks a bit dirty for 6k miles unless it's bodywork repair dust.
What's that white powder on passenger seat, airbag deployment dust?
I think there may be an interesting story behind this, come on Varisty!!
PS The house is 210k and is in a "sought after" area and is still for sale.

Jealousy is a very bad thing Neckr!!neckarsulm wrote:Nah me thinks Varsity is more of a Renault man

Ash318 stole the Scenic yesterday, his S4 is vvvv poorly.
As for the RS4 on PH, it was not a 6000 mile car, I HPI'd it and it came back as OK, however 2 hours later Leics Police lifted it as suspected stolen, even though I had only paid a deposit. Although this has yet to be proven, it looks likely to be back on the market if returned to its "owner".
It has a non RS4 (AUDI GMBH) chassis number, worse it has a different chassis number shown via VAG COM on the ECU's. There were trim panels missing, the area around the VIN#s had been painted, the car needed paint on nearly all LHS panels as someone had painted it with paint from Halfords in the dark. The seller claimed that it was imported from Japan, yes it has been imported but it is not an RS4 according to Audi De, Audi UK, Audi Jp and Audi GMBH. It is more likely a cloned A4. Obviously the further information we found out was not available on the Bank Holiday Monday when we looked at the car.
The car IS bad news, however you pays your money and takes your choice. Would make an excellent track day car or a car to keep for a long, long time as this one will become a very well known car and I suspect will be very difficult to sell on again. It will be especially known in the bowells of Leics police!!
I had purchase insurance from HPI and as such can only recommend their service highly. So the upside is that all the dilligence we showed has paid off and our loss in the cost of getting there to see the car and back again. Never underestimate the Police though, we told them nothing yet they knew everything, the sellers name, the location of the car, or maybe they already knew? Who knows.
All that said I am dissapointed it didn't work out, so back to the drawing board.

Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
