Anyone familiar with this RS4 ?

Post by ptkend » Mon Jan 30, 2006 3:48 pm

I'm thinking of buying the RS4 being sold by these guys :

http://www.motorzoneuk.com

I was wondering

a) if anyone knows anything about the car (no. of owners etc)
b) if anyone has driven it/seen it and what their thoughts were
c) what people's opinions are on spending 24K on a 70K mileage car vs spending 27K on a 45K mileage car, i.e. is the 3K worth it ? I only do about 5K miles a year

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Don't know if this is the same car....
http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... =motorzone

Perhaps the original poster decided against buying for some reason.

If it is the same car, might be worth getting feedback from the original poster (WellsyRS4)

Phil, that information contradicts itself - the top one says the colour is silver, the bottom one says it's purple???

It is unlikely that this registration is has been transfered as a private plate AND the first registered date is the same?

If the last change of owner was mid October it would be fair to assume that Welly backed the car for a full refund.
You could always ask the dealer for his name & address and call him direct

... or you could forget it. There are as many for sale as I have ever seen, I'd DEFINATELY put a bit more down if you can, get one with a cam belt service just completed...

For some Quirky Reason if the car is Avus Silver it is sometimes recorded as purple, happened to me on two occasions, once with TT and once with RS4.

Thanks to everyone who replied. Looks like you've just saved me a lot of potential hassle.

I am looking on this site for another RS4, as well as on pistonheads, autotrader, xandm, fontain and the audi site. Anyone got any other site suggestions ?

And while I'm at it, I'm going to take someone's advice and spend a bit more. To that end, is the person selling Y606 EAF (on autotrader for 26750) a member of this site ? If not, anyone have any views ?

Thanks on advance for your time.
