I've just bought an S4 into Ireland from the UK, the VRT on a 99 S4 will be 5100euros  crazy for a 6 year old car!,but could be more on inspection.

Congrats! Just consider tha the 5100 Euros VRT gets you a very unique and fun car. I'm probably a couple more months away to take the plunge into the RS4 - need to convert my drivers license to an Irish one and look for some decent insurance first.

Irish Insurance

Post by Mc-BigE » Tue Apr 19, 2005 8:15 am

There's not many Irish insurance companies that will insure my S4, so an RS4 will be even more difficult , I’m 34 with full NCB driving for 12 years
and allianz and www.brittoninsurance.com in Donegal are the only two insurance companies that would quote, I was with Hibernian on my previous car and the want over 2000euro a year! .
the best quote was allianz at just over 900euros fully comp.

Cheers
Eric.

Try 123.ie as well. Quotes were coming out OK ish for RS4 last year
Also FBD can be very good - my '96 S6 is insured TPFT with them for 680 Euro. (Also 34 with Full NCB.)
