Quattro gmbh do a sports exhaust for the rs4, dont know anyone with one over here mind, think feedme has one on his. Would be intersting to hear what it sounds like, cost etc. also it would not cause any isssues with warranty workVortex wrote:so if the Miltek is loud, is there a performance alternative that retains a more stock like noise level
Too much is bad.
Plenty is better.

Yeah I thought that from the posts last week. So I looked at the Quattro gmbh file we have in the download section which is in German. But I spotted Miltek in the text. So I'm assuming that the Quattro gmbh exhaust is the same miltek exhaust we are all talking about?TarmacTerrorist wrote:Quattro gmbh do a sports exhaust for the rs4, dont know anyone with one over here mind, think feedme has one on his. I've had my Milltek for three years now and use the car everyday. I prefer the great sound and the extra performance it gives. On motorways the exhaust is realtively quiet at around 70mph in sixth so doesn't intrude, if i'm driving faster and anyone complains I just turn the Bose volume up!
I think most people buy the RS4 because it is something special and they enjoy driving, the Milltek enhances the experience and lets everyone in ear shot know! My advise is to get one, I don't think there are many people who have swapped back to a stock exhaust system.
Have fun!

Hi All! It boils down to personal preference! I had the newest system on mine and yes it was noisy! (Wife complained non-stop, not that she has any say in the matter) I loved the performance form the Milltek System it was superb but to get this you have to put up with the extra, constant noise from the bloody thing!!!
Currently looking at System for my 996TT, There is also a lot of fuss (even more so!) as there are a load of different types of exhausts out there! Loads of chat about how certain systems are noisy, etc, etc!!
My best advice is try and get a test with someone who has the system! or does anyone have the ability to put a sound clip on!
check this one out!!! http://www.fabspeed.com/996TT%20Sport%2 ... 0Video.wmv

Didn't sound that good to me... maybe I need better speakersRS4_STEVO wrote:....check this one out!!! http://www.fabspeed.com/996TT%20Sport%2 ... 0Video.wmv

Yes, it was a quiet system and this would have included the sports cats I suppose, state of tune running 500bhp . My old RS was very noisyI found at first, but with a nice rumble (full Miltek system).simple1 wrote:RS4 John has an exhaust on his which is reasonbly quiet, I think his is a MTM variant..........or should we read scorpion....
The only car noiser was Bushys'
But the torque readings are much better with sports cats. Over 470lbs/ft torque.
More torque or more noise, you decide
No sig, no RS4 anymore
Then you need better speakers because here it sounds amazing !!!don wrote:Didn't sound that good to me... maybe I need better speakersRS4_STEVO wrote:....check this one out!!! http://www.fabspeed.com/996TT%20Sport%2 ... 0Video.wmv
BTW: I use SENNHEISER headphones

225 TTC tuned by SPORTEC
main reason for Full exhaust system is to relieve pressure and allow the engine to breathe.
I do not notice my car being noisy and went for the new Miltec system with the 100cell cats .
If you ask the car to perform it sounds like a rocket .
If you are gentle with it it is relatively quiet.
If you are cruising at 80 + it is not noticeable at all.
I have the system so my car has less restrictions and this in turn offers more reliability long term.
The cost of the full system is best value.
If you are going to do a job do it right.
The Miltec is great value and easy to get fitted.
with some proper code and every thing in perfect condition under the bonnet (DV's MAF LAMDA's and no leaks not easy mind you) your car should be at 470 bhp / 610 nm.
All for little money

I know I can't Spell please correct this if you feel the need. If you can't spell How do you work a spell checker! DAA.. have a guess

Yes, it is a special car, but I would say a good majority of the 6000+ cars worldwide have been bought buy people for it's 'Q' factor and like the idea that it doesn't stand out too much.same wrote: I think most people buy the RS4 because it is something special and they enjoy driving, the Milltek enhances the experience and lets everyone in ear shot know!
I would personally rank the kudos gained from 1 person in every 100 who will stop and admire the car when it is parked up, over the 99 in 100 who would only be looking over their shoulder to see what all the noise is coming down the street from behind them.
Neither would I if i had invested 2k, unless I was selling the car, then it would be off straight awy if the price was in my favour to do so.same wrote:

Guys, guys, guys.....you have it all wrong......Diesel wrote: No noise = no soul! [check spotters page - someone heard it:)]
This is not your cars soul your listening too, but it's arsehole. The bit of pipework that releases the waste gases after the feul has been consumed. Stick a half decent make of exhaust on any old p.o.s and it will give it "Soul" if thats what the chav's are calling it these days.
For me the soul of an rs4 sits somewhere else, somewhere deep within it's silky smooth, twin turbo'd V6 and the way it transfers it's power down onto the road in just about any condition, not in the sound it makes at the rear end. Ask anyone who has owned an rs4 previously to their current car what there fondest memory of it is and it wont be exhaust note for sure even if they did have a miltek.
Yes, the standard exhaust is reasonably subdued inside the cabin, but certainly not silent, what this does allows for is you to be able to hear (if you listen carefully) the multi peice orchestra that is being played to you from within the engine bay. A lot of the finer sound caracterstiscs you can hear through the car when you start loading up the engine, drivetrain and subsytems are lost when you put a louder exhaust on imho.
