I don't even have an RS4!

...but could it be the switch that gets released when pressing the clutch down?? The switch is used by the cruise control system, perhaps this is making the noise?

Its a definite click noise (feeling really) through the pedal when pushed.

Service light came up this morning so I'll add it to their list I guess.

It could be the switch or it could be part of the clutch valve itself. I'd have thought it's more likely to just be part of the actual pedal mounting and assembly itself though. I've never had this problem either, although sometimes when cold the clutch does bite a little hard and that feels like clicking.

I have it (if it's the same) since about 2 months. Click noise comes from the pedal and you can feel it, while pushing the pedal (my knee should be ok, no pain, no noise). Thought it must be a loose bolt or something like this. Please let me know what it was.

There is normally 2 circlip washers holding the pedal assembly in place. If these have moved they can cause the clicking you refer to.
