When I bought the RS I decided it would be a wise move to buy myself a Snooper, as suggested - served me well so far :D

£1300 doesn't sound too bad for you're age TBH, and it will also be influenced by where you live/park. I have age, and a clean record on my side, but the fact I park on the street in London is too much of a risk for some insurers - but modified, mine is under £400.

Mine came up for renewal this month and Direct Line want 800 notes this year with Protected NCB. I rang around quickly and Admiral are happy to insure me with Protected NCB

Type of cover: Comprehensive
Manufacturer: AUDI
Model: A4 RS4 QUATTRO
Driver(s): Insured and spouse/partner
Years NCB: 7 Protected No Claims Bonus
Class of use: Business Class 1
Policy Term: 12 months
Excesses: See below

This quote is valid until 1/01/10.

Insurance Premium: 359.19
Insurance Premium Tax: 17.96

Total 377.15 !!!!!

I asked the lass to read it all back and for some reason the original quote I did online was against an S4 (reg number recognition got it wrong) and it was more than the RS4. I asked her why cheaper for an RS4 and she said the S4 is in Group 20 and the RS4 is in Group 17.

I also declared mods in that lot too and the excess if 350!

I will let you know when I get all the docs but it seems that Admiral may be the way to go for cheap RS4 insurance!

Yes I'm with admiral and ive paid around the 350 mark. I think mines states the group as 20D?? I'll have to check on that though. I have my other audi with them as well and thats a A4 avant tsport quattro and that was about the same price as the RS, thats in group 16 I think but that has gone on as Zero years NCB. They were the cheapest I found. Though it would be intersting to get a quate from a specialist.

Thats a bit strong, its more expensive to insure an impreza than it is to insure the rs4 hence why im going for the rs and the fact i've wanted one for ages.
