cold start?

Had a mettalic whirring sound on cold start which I think is on the secondary injector? It then didn't work which made starting v diff. Took it to Audi and they plugged it in and came up with 'inplausible camshaft sensor readings' on both sensors, so they said may need to check camchain tensioners at a price of at least £300 before they've even done anything?
I have read other posts about the whirring sound on cold start and doesn't come up with anything like this? I have also read that the secondary injector can be taken out and codes disabled etc?
All way above my head. Anyone with any recs, as don't want to spend on something that can be fixed more easily

I have disconnected my secondary air pump as made a very similar sound as above.

The only problem is the EML keeps coming on , any ideas how to re-code via VAG COM ?
