Thanks for the reply.

The set set me back 1100€ here in the frozen lake-land.

Will report as soon as I've had the chance to experience to hopefully stupendous grip. Got some racing pads for Movits as well, and 10W-60 oil for the motor. The driver is definately the weakest link :)

1 or 2 laps will run them in. What did they cost?
Are you sure ? so quickly ? I thought they last like 25 or 30 minuts with the same ammount of grip and efficiency  ? No ?

Thanks in advance...

Yep, it takes a few laps to scrub them in and a few more to get the pressures right.

Pilot Cup (235/40-18 on RS4 stock 8.5x18" wheels), car RS4 st3 with GmbH suspension and Movits:

The grip is truly stupendous, and the tyres are quite progressive on the limit. It seems to be impossible to go too quickly into corners. It never really washes wide, but slides a bit, maintaining grip unlike a road tyre. Steering feel is good and steering accurate. Wear is OK, and the tyre does not roll too much (no wear on tyre sides, shoulders same as the rest).

Started with 2.5 bar cold pressure all round, which equated to 3.0bar front, 2.8 bar rear hot. This made the car a bit tail happy, so I lowered front pressure, so that it was 2.8 all round. Neutral behaviour, very very quick. Next time will test with 3.0 hot all round.

Encountred a new B7 RS4 on the track as well. No match in straight lines, nor in corners -the latter thanks to Pilot Cup. If only those seats were available for B5...

Well I finished off the set of Dunlop SSR's I bought off Gordon/Dave/JR at Castle Combe recently when I took 2 of them down to the steel bands!!!!! They were on the inside of the wheel arch I hasten to add so very difficult to spot  but testament to how well made the tyre is as I had no idea they were about to give up.

Yesterday went to Mr Tyre in Birmingham and bought 4 new Dunlop SSR's for £99 each all in as per the offer they have on their web site which is mentioned further back in this thread somewhere. They did have the newer Dunlop track tyre as well but this was £55 more per corner and I couldn't justify that really. For what its worth they have plenty of SSR's in stock, even though they have stopped making them and I was told that they would be able to get hold of them for some time to come. I have been pretty impressed with the performance of this tyre on the track and can thoroughly recommend it at this price, which I reckon is good value. The new rubber will see action again at Castle Combe in October unless I'm tempted by something sooner :<beep>_you:
