BBS Le Mans & Challenge without spacers?

Post by Gumball0r^ » Mon Apr 10, 2006 4:22 pm

Hi

I was at my local "wheel-shop" today to look at a new set of rims for my new car. The BBS Le Mans and Challenge looked very (!) nice, especially in 19", but I was told that they only fit with spacers :? Since I havent heard anything bad comments about spacers I would like to now if any of you guys have fitted BBS' without spacers? And your experience with spacers.

Regards, Mads

They probably won't clear your calipers without spacers.

you'll need spacers with the LM's certainly.

and I dont think BBS make an ET20 CH so you'll need spacers with those too.

I have a set of 19in BBS LM's for sale in excellent condition if you are interested, see pictures in the gallery.

I have LM's on mine, without spacers you'll have issues allover. I advise spacers definatley. Check my gallery out.

So you haven't had any problems at all with using spacers?

I have BBS GT-004's (very sim to LM's). I have both 12mm and 15mm spacers. The 12mm's were supplied by BBS as part of the kit to make the rims fit. Although I have Movits and things were just a bit to close for comfort so got some 15mm spacers machined locally.

No problems with spacers what-so-ever.

However, we are talking CNC machined spacers mm perfect and mated to both wheel and hub - not halfords specials...

I fitted mine BBS LeMans (9.5X19") at first with out the spacers, and it works. (I have the original brakes) Then I tried the 12mm spacers that are recommended and the car seemed to handle better and wasn’t so nervous as before. So now I always drive with the spacers on with out any problems at all.

Go for it, buy the BBS LeMans! :)

I don't think Tom was being a smart arse, and yes, the fitting is quite different - even the fitting from an S4 to an RS4 is different.
