IIRC The bore diameter is different between the Porsche rims and the RS2. I'll see if I can dig out the numbers unless someone beats me to it. The ET should be fine and I run 8x18 on my S2 avant (identical suspension and bodywork to RS2) but had to play around with spacers when I was fitting the 255...

Thermodynamics would suggest that as you increase power, parasitic losses will increase. From practical experience on very similar cars with vastly differing power outputs it appears that there is no proportional correlation between losses and power. Seems that crank power increases have a very mari...

Nah. Not sensitive...life is too short. :) It is impossible to convey emotions in posts unless those flippin emoticons are used (over used sometimes! ;) ) Quote: All this shows that no individual measurement can be relied upon, and only by multiple and diverse measurements can you get a good enough ...

That comes across as an aggressive response. It wasn’t intended to arouse such responses. I was a senior design engineer in the space industry and I understand the limitations of accelerometer, rate gyros, GPS as well as other position, attitude and rate sensors. I also understand the statistics inv...

RE: Cat replacement pipes
Bit more performance, more sound and the ability to throw flames out of the back if that floats your boat. Not sure who is selling them now but I hollowed out the standard cats which isn't ideal but does reduce the back pressure. Any custom exhaust place should be able to knock up some pipes for you...

Many dynos are ONLY useful for shootouts and modification comparisons when developing a car. The absolute BHP figures are often misleading but can be fantastic for pub talk. On my motor I have had 80bhp peak losses at peak power in standard and remapped forms at multiple outlets that measured the po...

Not too sure Greg. One nice feature of the B4 chassis is the fact that we have a set of bushes between the wishbones and the subframe and another set between the subframe and the monocoque. Firming up on one set of bushes hardly affects ride but putting solid ally subframe bushes in will probably ma...

MAF is Mass Air Flow sensor.....this doesn't have a pressure rating as it measures air speed which the ECU can determine as mass flow rate. An RS2 has, as standard a 3 bar MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure). This is absolute pressure so can measure up to 2 bar above nominal atmospheric pressure...

I destroyed my Powerflex bushes in a few months (but then I can pull in excess of 1.5g in deceleration with my new brake setup). I have pressed wishbones (as opposed to cast) and the steel ends up digigng into the bush exacerbating its demise. Superflex do a much better bush for the pressed wishbone...
