Re: Changing cv boots.

Just to add a little to this one: I see in the Bentley Publications Service Manual for this that they say you can thread the big CV retaining bolt back into the joint itself and it's long enough to reach the end of the driveshaft and pop it out of the joint. No hammers involved. I haven't done this ...

Excellent, 'tis a noble thing you do! :-)

I'll be very interested to hear what you think of them.

Re: RS6 Tyre Fitment (please contribute)

I suspect that if there is an issue with these tyres it's likely the old favourite 'knobby bit' problem, but I've long since dealt with that on my car. I'd still like to hear from someone who has actually fitted the M01 though, in case there's something else amiss before I go dropping significant fu...

Re: RS6 Tyre Fitment (please contribute)

Can't get the ps2s RO1 anywhere here in switzerland :-(.. Only the MO1 Interestingly enough I've found a few places where they say the MO1s will fit the RS6. Would anyone here be able to confirm that? I too would love to hear some ' real-world ' experience of the Michelin PS2 255/35/19 M01 (Mercede...

Re: F125 Gearbox switch replacement RS6

The oxy/acetylene set was within easy reach, but I figured setting fire to the whole thing would be counterproductive

Re: F125 Gearbox switch replacement RS6

If I may be so bold as to add to this, I did this job a couple of weeks ago. I had the car up on the lift and pondered the stupid location of the 'wing' on the transmission mount for quite some time before starting into taking things apart. After a few minutes of that nonsense, I had another look at...

<resurrect zombie thread> I have a question that is very closely related to the OP's tyre issue, so I hope that tacking it onto the end of this oldish thread is okay with the Mods. :D Anyhow, I've got the exact same issue as the OP, with my front PS2s rubbing on the suspension under certain conditio...

HA!
I laugh in the face of your puny Road Tax rates!

Over here (Ireland), the mighty RS6 costs (Euro)€1491/annum; that's approximately (Sterling)£1200. :(

Those quantities are about right, but you should be aware that filling the RS6 gearbox correctly is a much more complex operation that simply 'filling it up to the mark', involving closely monitoring the gearbox temperature and the use of a special tool to get the fluid into it. Check out this threa...

RE: Forum members in Ireland? North or South?

I'm down near Portlaoise, Co. Laois. I take mine to Sheehy Motors, Naas, Co. Kildare; they have one other RS6 on their books, a LHD Avant owned by someone from Eastern Europe somewhere. They have a bunch of RS4s and a few R8s too. I find them to be interested and enthusiastic about the car, and I'm ...

Having bought mine in the last year, I shall now stick my fingers in my ears and shout: "La, la, la, I can't hear you!" :D In all honesty, I don't see the bottom falling out of the value of the (old) RS6, other than normal depreciation. Realistically, the sort of buyer who had the money and inclinat...

LOL! I use to think the same in my 550+bhp Skyline I had before the RS6. Wow! How did the 'driving experience' compare with the RS6? However, my RS5 should feel well quick when i can drive it again, as I've now not driven it for 12 weeks now because of broken right foot ankle  Ouch! Consider i...

This particular case does sound like a gremlin of some sort in the works, but I've certainly found myself getting used to the power, to the point that (short of mashing the pedal into the carpet and engaging hyperdrive) the performance at 'ordinary' throttle openings is 'normal' and the ability to i...
