Black B7 S4 **05 UMM, M60 Manchester

Heading anti-clockwise from J17 to the M602 junction on Saturday PM - thanks for the rolling comparison; I'm glad to see that my "old" B6 S4 is still up to the job...

Update: - Jumps out of second gear (into neutral) which is not much fun when engine breaking! The stealer swapped the whole gearbox out (under warranty) after finding swarf in the gearbox oil. After complaining about the TSBs, the mods for noisy startup (pulley change) and over sensitive throttle we...

The RS6 4.2L V8 block is 54mm longer (front to back) than the S4 B6 engine - that's why you can't swap one for the other :-(

Re: SatNav Upgrade

Has anyone ever considered, or attempted, upgrading the Symphony CD/Tape/Radio to SatNav? The RNS-D (CD based Navi system) is not much fun to fit in a B6 (didn't actually complete mine, hardwiring ABS pulses etc.) BUT the RNS-E (DVD Navi system with MP3+) is very straight forward (most signals come...

Re: RE: ipod in S4

phatboxes do look cool, saw them a while ago but then saw you had to cut the cover in the boot as the cartridge is too long - is there any way around that? Perhaps install it in your glove box instead? This is what mine looks like: http://www.comgate.tv/rs246/phatnoise_glovebox_b6.JPG but it is in ...

Hi, 14,000 miles from new. Just gone in for first service: - Jumps out of second gear (into neutral) which is not much fun when engine breaking! - New tyres on front only: GoodYear F1 - ACE! Rear tyres ready for change soon due to under inflation :-( - Nasty whine on start up from cold. Stealer refu...

I wonder if Gordon's around and can tell us what the insurance position is, if you "hand the keys over" without a struggle?

Car Jacking - North Manchester

Hi, if you live in or around North Manchester it's time to take care again. It seems that we're back in car jacking season again and RS4s are still desired - read on: http://tinyurl.com/cbc6b I think I have seen the green RS4 that was taken (driven by a lady) many times around Whitefield. I just hop...

Retrofit Shark Fin Antenna for B6???

Hi, I've seen a few pictures of US B6 models with a shark fin combination antenna for what I think must be SatNav and mobile phone (and possibly XM radio). I have a couple of questions: - Has anyone seen the B6 shark fin (original Audi part) fitted to Euro B6 models? - Does the shark fin antenna sup...

Somehow I can't see the Audi bean counters giving everyone a new engine for a noise made by a little pulley. Is there some sort of recall for noisy S4 B6 engines? I have a high pitched noisy pulley "sort of noise" when the car starts from cold for the first five minutes; or is this something else a...

What is it with these cretins? My "Brilliant Black" car was keyed down both sides whilst I was in the local supermarket for slightly less than 10 minutes. Four panels (and one door handle!) have been damaged but not down to metal as far I can tell. Just to make the bill that little bit spicier it's ...
