Interesting reading this chaps. I have a Leon Cupra R which has the same gearbox bar the 4wd gubbins and have just had mine replaced by the dealer with exactly the same fault at 22k miles. If its gone to the stage of crunching I wouldn't accept an oil change, just think of the damage being done ever...

I belive Synta is in fact made by Quantum, you may remember the name... VAG bought them some time ago.

Yep, thats much better, enclosed filter with cold air feed. You'll get much better results out of that. [img]images/graemlins/thumbs.gif[/img]

The car is not slow by any means of the imagination, but it doesn't feel quick. It has not got that 'thrust you back in the seat' feeling that makes you grin from ear to ear.
