Not finished yet.....I had to take some time out for work abroad so its still a work in progress. The brakes are now done - 380 8 pots on the front and 350 4 pots and the back with separate handbrake calipers. The mechanical and basic fabrication side is more or less complete, I just need to get the...

RE: S5
I've got an S5 and was also wondering about this. I found out (but its never really been confirmed) that the internals on the S5 aren't specced for the higher revs of the RS4, so it doesn't make the top end power. I'd love to see comparative dyno plots because I've chased an RS4 and it wasn't much f...

S4INT is right - Bedford Autodrome is an excellent place to start. Lots of run off, and nothing really to hit, so very safe, but still excellent with high and low speed corners. I've been there 10+ times and I'm still finding better ways round it. Most airfield circuits are also safe - Bruntingthorp...

Alex, there are that many similar plugs in that area its difficult from a photo, but I agree with the other posts in your topic - they look like the a/c connectors. If they're not let me know and I'll have a look at the other dash panels to match the connectors...they are buried in the back of the g...

S4 B5 Mid-engined Special
I thought you guys might be interested in this. Over the last couple of years I've been slowly building a one-off track-day car which mates an S4 v6 to an Esprit v8 chassis and GTM composite tub. I've maintained a build diary but not posted anything yet, so the project is now pretty advanced. The sp...

I guess until the S5 has done 10,000 miles the engine will still be relatively tight. In my experience any VAG engine goes better at 100,000 miles than at 5,000 - that why I cant understand people who change them at low mileages - they never get the best from them....I reckon that the S5 engine will...

It would be strange if the RS4 wasn't faster than an S5 given the power difference. Its like saying the RS6 is quicker than the RS4 - course it is....what is surprising is how close it seems to be if the times were taken in similar conditions And how can you compare a tuned S4 with a standard S5. Wo...

I'm coming late to this topic, but I can definitely say that the new asymmetrics have much better grip in the dry, without losing any of the legendary wet braking and handling for the F1 GSD3. The tyre fitter who said they were not Sports tyres was talking complete boolsht. Only downside that I can ...
