incidently we have just bought the 997, small world!!!!!

minor service by the way,

i have the back boxes from a v8 s4 which have the vacume valve, does this simply operate on the engine vacume or is it like the dual length intake manfold which have a accumalator and a solenoid valve to opperate after 4000rpm?i know the valve does what ever its suppose to do above and below 1700rpm...

4.2 32v ABZ engine out of an A8,

its in a coupe quattro running a vems ecu, fired up for the first time today, cooked coil pack number 5 tho after a few starts

new pump fixed problem but the pump was faulty and has half pushed one of the rack pipes off, (the swaged end)

not a happy bunny, what pressure is in the pipes on the rack?

what if its intermittant whatever the rev's?
no strange noises,
done the bleed thing,
just all of a sudden you loose power steering,
then as strange as it goes away, it comes back?????

took the engine out of a 2001 rs4 to repair the turbos

after putting it back in the power steering is intermittant?

doesnt change with increased rev's

fluid is full

system has been bled by holding on full lock both ways

any ideas?
