Re: Excellent write up on RS5 in Autocar

Steve Sutcliffe "Between 70mph and a fair bit more. the RS5 is as quick as a 458. And it's got four seats and a boot" He loves it Also in next week's edition a (£35k) car comparison between a four year old RS4 and a new Mitsubishi Evo FQ-360. This was my Rs4 versus a friend of mine in his RS6 (he used to be on the C5 forum) when we were on the "Rabbit Run" europe trip. He had a Miltek and it sounded lovely but on numerous occasions we had a burn up and mine was a little bit quicker. Mine had just a remap by Ray West and his had the exhau...

When we had the snow and I was trying to get my C63 AMG up a VERY slight incline to my road most certainly YES!!! I still have massive respect for the RS4 and if I could afford to keep mine and buy an RS4 for the girlfriend I would - Just can't afford both though so I will be sticking with the AMG f...

Re: RE: 6th gear

I use 6th gear from 20mph to 155+mph. This is a big, torquey engine but it still lets you know when it's unhappy enough to want you to change down. If you genuinely use 5th gear at 20 mph I think you should have a Prius, not a lovely RS4!!! You do not buy an RS4 to be economical, nor do you have an...

Re: RE: Top Speed

My speedo is not quite as bad as Rob's. Its 5 mph out and that seems to be independent of speed. The top speed is limited in 6th by rpm I believe - 7000rpm - so at an indicated 170mph in my car (which is pretty much equivalent to 7000rpm), you're doing about 165mph. You can find YouTube footage of ...

Left the RS4 mould (wicked car) and now in a C63 with bits done and over 500BHP and nearing 500lbft torque - not as usable every day but boy is it quick, F430 was ringing it's neck the other day on the M25 and I was stuck to it's bumper!!!!
