I use 6th gear from 20mph to 155+mph. This is a big, torquey engine but it still lets you know when it's unhappy enough to want you to change down. If you genuinely use 5th gear at 20 mph I think you should have a Prius, not a lovely RS4!!! You do not buy an RS4 to be economical, nor do you have an...

My speedo is not quite as bad as Rob's. Its 5 mph out and that seems to be independent of speed. The top speed is limited in 6th by rpm I believe - 7000rpm - so at an indicated 170mph in my car (which is pretty much equivalent to 7000rpm), you're doing about 165mph.
