Have taken out the EuropAssist and will let you know how it goes should it be required. Only keeping it until the new RS6 is in play and was swung by the ability to transfer it to the next owner.

RE: Audi Warranty not FSA approved...
Got the paperwork through, all the usual, claim limit to retail value (ie write-off) and no max number of claims. Max mileage 100,000. Most importantly the warranty is transferrable to the next owner for a £25.00 fee. Have gone for two years.

Dodgy Jack
Had a blow out on the way to work this morning. Whilst changing the spare the Audi supplied jack collapsed like a piece of tin-foil. Flat gound, handbrake on, in park and yet it just folded. Beware.

It was previously £1,557.00 with Mondial. New warranty £699.00 for one year, £799.00 for two years and £1,099.00 for three years. Hip hip....

Stop press - made two phone calls yesterday, one to Warranty Direct and one to Nigel at Wayside Audi. Nigel tells me that new Audi Warranty scheme is available for sale at £699.00. No brainer.

DrB, let me know what the confirmation says. Been wavering over the value for money of the cover and weighing-up the potential risks. Would feel a whole lot more comfortable with a higher annual claim limit.

I'm told that the Butterfly valves are different on the Tip version as the gearbox rely's on pressure changes for auto up/downshift. This came from Craig at Wayside Audi who used to work for AMD, he's usually a reliable source of info. Whatever the facts they sound drop-dead gorgeous. Never actually...

Anybody had an ESP linked Hum through the BOSE?
There's a bit of an electronic whine as the ESP starts to kill the fun which is not too bad as you can just turn the wretched thing off. More annoying is the intermittent turbocharger sound that sounds like unsurpressed radio interference coming through the speakers, even with the volume turned down...

RE: Audi Warranty not FSA approved...
Not sure now. The Warranty Direct quote came through yesterday and there both a single claim and annual £5,000.00 limit. Mondial have a single claim limit of the purchase price of the car and no limit to the amount of claims. It's a bit of an actuarial puzzle but to my mind it's £850.00 for up to £5...
