Re: Long shot but wondering

Hi,
I bought it a few months ago, it's going well, I'm a mechanic so will be keeping on top of it myself.

RE: Airbox flap

The flap has nothing to do with the kick at 55 it's the throttle opening 100%,
which it doesn't do untill then even if your foot is on the floor!
If you open it all the time you will draw warm air into the airbox which is not good.
Leave it alone if it works!

RE: Air box flap solenoid

This is the problem with main dealer mechs, they don't know how to find the problem if there's no codes! It's not a big job at all! Test the flap actuator with a hand vac pump it will move if it's good. Then do the output test and check the signal on the plug that's on the solanoid, if it's getting ...

RE: Air box flap solenoid

I've just replaced my solenoid today! As it was stuck closed! I tested the flap by taking the vac pipe off and connecting a hand vac pump to it to test the actuator. The flap work perfectly so brought a solenoid today and all works fine now. I can't tell if the solenoid clicks over the noise of the ...

RE: Exhaust link H X

Yes that's right, the exhaust may also be part of the torque limiting package?

RE: H&R sport spring

If you have DRC you will need the equiptment to re gas the system,
which needs to be opened to fit the fronts.
I think it's a main dealer job only to gas it!

Exhaust link H X

So makes me wonder why Audi didn't join it as it would have been easy!?
it must be something to do with limiting the torgue?
I don't no why they needed to limit it but they limit it with the throttle map and TC as well?
It may be down to stopping wheel spin!

This is my theory, Not sure if its right but just thinking logically! I'm sure the standard exhaust is not linked, Linking it with a H or X pipe will give the engine more torque IF its been Mapped for it. Thats why all aftermarket systems have the link pipe in to show that they are an improvement ov...

I would go valved if you can afford it, i had a non res non valved and it was to loud for me, thats in an avant. i think its louder in the avant. the bass boom at around 2k was to much. the milltek has a H pipe at the cats to add torque, thats what adds the boom! the standard system is not linked an...

I've just had mine back from Stratford Audi with a new right front and left rear damper under the 5 year warrenty, I did have to fight for it though! Stratford told me to go to where it was serviced as it is a goodwill warrenty, so I called Coventry Audi and they said they don't deal with warrenty i...
