RE: Newbie, S3 Headlights, Help!

You can't swap the headlights from LHD to RHD. There is a lever inside the headlight unit that flattens the beam.

RE: Xenon lights

Just look out for D2S bulbs. You may have to get a pair to make sure both headlight bulbs are the same colour. HIDs4U stock them. I have found it easier to take the headlight out to change the bulbs, it makes it alot easier to see what you are doing, and lessens the chance of damaging the bulb. The ...

Check the options sticker in the boot under the carpet, or in the service book.

RE: Power run day!!

I agree with ChrisRS4. I don't disconnect my rear driveshafts to drive on the road, so why would I do that to drive on a rolling road? A Haldex equipped car will be fine on any good 4WD rolling road.

RE: Alarm siren location??? help needed asap

It's an easy job. I've changed a siren a couple of times now. I find removing the left hand side panel makes access very easy.

RE: Alarm siren location??? help needed asap

As posted above, the alarm siren is in the boot, in the well behind the N/S rear wheel under the central locking pump.
If the siren hasn't been replaced previously, you will need to drill the fastening hole to a larger size. You will also need a new nut to go with the larger thread on the new siren.

AFAIK. Yes.
Listen to an A3/S3 without BOSE. You can tell the difference.

RE: Turbo Pressure

A 210PS S3 should be about 0.8 bar peak. 225 about 1.1 IIRC. For 270-275bhp it would probably have to run ~1.5 bar at fairly high revs.

RE: Changing Headlights for the Continent

Inside the headlight unit there is a small lever just below the projector unit. If you flick that upwards a shutter moves over part of the beam to make it flat. It is a little fiddly though. It's probably easier to take the headlight out to do it. Here's a picture of the lever on a facelift S3 headl...

RE: fuel filter change

The fuel filter is easy to change on an S2 Coupe. The S2 Avant is a different story. You have to drop the tank to gain access to the filter. Bare in mind that Audi petrol fuel filters are not considered a servicable item, so their placement isn't always in the best position to be so. That doesn't me...

RE: R32 ARB on S3

I've done this on an A3 1.8T quattro Sport already on coil-overs. It will obviously depend on you current setup, but I would recommend it as a cheap option compared to the Neuspeed and H&R kits. The car rolls a lot less and corners much much flatter, obviously. However, I did find they brought back ...

It was great to meet another friendly bunch of Audi nuts. I'm glad we got the S3 cambelt job finished in time to make it.
Cheers for the ride Leon. Your car sounds mental. I hope Andy makes it home ok in the old 90.
We should all do it again sometime.

RE: Oem ARBs?

Wow! Those are thick ARBs. I wouldn't mind giving them a try, but they're a little pricey compared to the R32 ARBs. Although I bet you wouldn't have to wait untill May to get them.
