Re: RS6 Avant-anybody know it?
It’s entirely possible (common?) for the box to be mechanically faulty and cause slipping and flaring, without any lights on. Borrow some trade plates or find a nice private road so you can test it, doesn’t need to be fast fast, stationary to 30mph will probably show up, you just need to feel a gear...

Re: RS6 Avant-anybody know it?
You need to get it into a situation where you can do a reasonably hard first to second gear change, imagine like when you are pulling out of a junction into a stream of traffic to find out how bad the gearbox is. No need to go mental, particularly if the box is cold. If you bounce the limiter or it ...

Re: New RS6, new gearbox issues [SOLVED]
After dropping the gearbox sump and valve body to replace the high pressure metal pipe for the 2nd gear clutch, I noticed the filter/strainer was cracked, pretty much directly below the intake into the valve block. My theory is when under cornering/acceleration, the oil would have been towards the b...

Re: RS6 Gearbox expert recommendations
Heyup guys, if I could just add this to the thread and also an update on a thread I started back late last year regarding the same. After having the usual transmission issues widely experienced with the 5HP24, I’ve done what most have probably done on here and researched into the causes of why the ...

Re: RS6 Gearbox expert recommendations
Thats very interesting! Seems like its worth pulling the VB off and taking a look, before I give someone 3-5k to replace a nearly new box! Is this a relatively common problem?

New RS6, new gearbox issues [SOLVED]
Rejoining after a long absense, just picked up a '03 RS6 which had a new gearbox from audi within the last 4k. In general I'm really happy with it, but it sometimes seems to slip going 1st-2nd, the revs rocket up and then it goes into gear with a bang. Theres no fault codes showing, but one odd thin...
