Re: Engine build and 6MT swap

Looking good Wes. Really looking forward to the end product.
I have not got the patience (or the mula) to even consider doing something like this.
Hats off to you sir.

Re: Fitted new TPMS - TX-S001 Direct Fit TPMS Sensor

Hi Ben. I have not had a problem with them. But I had all 4 replaced at the same time.
I think I had to go for a 20 minute drive after fitting them.
It said something like that on the instructions.

Re: HVAC unit

Hi Ben
I googled error code 00796 v42.
Led me to the fan in the hvac unit.

I will leave it for a while then do a rescan.
“Christine” has a habit of fixing herself.

Re: HVAC unit

IMG_0947.jpeg IMG_0946.jpeg IMG_0945.jpeg Hi Suz. In my toolbox of all places. Front panel can be removed. The spare hvac unit is in better condition than I remembered. Just need to replace some buttons. That’s quick and easy with feeler gauges. Topman (Craig) is checking the compatibility for me. ...

Re: HVAC unit

No. But just watched a total technic video on how to remove it.
Just remembered I have a spare hvac somewhere. I just need to find it. Bought that one for the buttons.

Re: HVAC unit

Hi Suz.
Every thing is working fine Suz. Air con ok fan blasting cool air out in this hot weather.

It’s the tiny fan inside the hvac unit for cooling the HVAC unit internal components. I did hear a slight squeaking noise some weeks ago. But it stopped.

HVAC unit

Hi all. Did a scan today. Looks like the HVAC unit interior cooling fan has packed up. Has anyone managed to gain access to the internals or are they a sealed unit. Really don’t want to replace it for another used unit. As this one is in great condition. I replaced the buttons some years ago. TIA IM...

Re: Power steering questions…

I don’t get the impression of heavy steering while I am driving. Put it this way. I can drive the car using 1 finger on the steering wheel for normal straight driving. However I couldn’t do that making full turns on corners or 3 point turns where both hands are needed. That goes for my old rack and ...

Re: Looking at buying a 2003 RS6 - a couple questions

IMG_0900.jpeg It’s your car Adi. If you want to do the Cambelt and water pump at 10-11 year interval that’s up to you. Surprised there hasn’t been a bang and a fooked engine after 10 years. I will stick to the recommended 4 yearly or 40000 miles interval. I would hate myself if I ruined the engine ...

Re: Looking at buying a 2003 RS6 - a couple questions

Hi Suz. I would just add. I also do the thermostat and extra roller that’s not included in the kit every time I do the timing belt. Good point on water pump. To date I have not removed a pump with the plastic impeller. Mine have all been metal. Unit 20 have done my Cambelts and water pumps. Hi allro...

Re: Brake lines

Cheers Matt. I did my own copper brake lines donkeys years ago. On an escort iirc.
I didn’t know if things had moved on since then.

Will have to get them done soon.
