Re: Considering a C6
They're all getting on a bit now so you should budget for suspension bushes etc. and other age/wear related issues. In fact having a significant - I'm talking a few thousand pounds - repair fund would be my recommendation. Go in with your eyes open. DRC issues, in my experience, are down to corroded...

Re: Wides tires on 20"
Try using this: https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/ it provides you with a list of tyre sizes and the differences in their total circumference from your defined starting point. Pay careful attention to the recommended wheel widths. In the end, if you want a wider tyre, then you will need to r...

Re: Tyres
Continental SportContact 6 are very good in my experience and according to tests a match for or better than the Michelin SuperSport for traction and braking, excellent steering feel but not quite a match for the Michelin in this area... Continental will not wear as well as the Michelin but is a very...

So, if you go to http://www.torquestats.com/modified/ind ... =Calculate
You’ll see that the calculated 0-60, 0-100 and standing quarter times for a standard C6 RS6 are 4.6, 10.2 and 13.13@114mph

Re: gearbox
May not be gearbox... could be another element of the transmission. But agree worth getting any codes read via VCDS.
Before this happened were there any strange noises? When you try to select a gear are there any odd noises? If there are do these change with engine revs?
