Definite flatspot

Car (B7 RS4 Cab) accelerates cleanly through the rev range, 1k to 8k no problem. However, when upshifting, there is a definite pause before the power comes in again. Accelerate to 7k in second, change up to third, engine sits at 4k... and then pulls cleanly again. Same in the next gear. I don't have...

Re: B7 Ipod connector installed, but CD display

Thanks Kenny - maybe it is something I will look into but I don't even have time to clean the damned thing let alone diagnose the head unit :( I'll run it over to Fontain soon. I fancy a DRC fluid refresh anyway and may combine the two. I suppose I was hoping it was something I could sort with a but...

Re: B7 Ipod connector installed, but CD display

I had to look up VCDS; the answer is no I don't have it. I do appreciate the reply though! I did wonder if the dealer had just bought a cheap RNS-E unit on eBay and plonked it in. If that is the case, is it just a recoding issue? I'd much rather have the iPod connector installed so though it was a g...

B7 Ipod connector installed, but CD display

As per the title... Reporting here in the hope of a reply! Scrolling through the stereo options, told me I had a 6 CD changer. Which there isn't, there is a proper Audi iPod connecter in the glovebox (B7 RS4) I bought the bluetooth dongle recommended on here from Amazon to play music from my phone, ...

Re: WTB standard B7 RS4 backboxes

Collection from just south of Oxford or I can get hubs to deliver for an agreed cost as it fits in a Range Rover.. P Will it fit in a Cayenne... worth a go! I’ll be in touch once I’m at work and can hopefully get some one close by to fit it. No joy from Fontain, they won’t install a second hand par...

Re: WTB standard B7 RS4 backboxes

Failing that, would consider an aftermarket valved system if not silly-loud!

WTB standard B7 RS4 backboxes

My exhaust vales are sadly beyond repair according to Fontain so am looking for a standard pair of backboxes with functioning valves!

Re: Considering RS4 convertible, tips/experience/advice

A Cab owner myself, of a couple of weeks - absolutely love it so far. I intentionally sourced one without the Recaros as the standard seats tip forwards more easily and the little one will be in the back sometimes. Mistakes I made through lack of reading were exhaust vales were jammed (should be ope...

Re: Morning!

8 & 10mm H&R? Plenty on eBay, but I'm not sure about whether they're genuine! Any well known sources? It's running on Michelin Alpins at the moment and will go in for PS4s in spring so I will sort it then. Any handling benefit or cosmetic only? I had a Maser 4200 back in the day and they helped mass...

Re: Morning!

Cheers Fraser, that's good to know. I left them open overnight with freeing 3 in 1 on them, by the time I drove in and checked them at work, they'd closed! I guess the vibration plus the vacuum pulled them closed so I'm hopefully on the way to a a world of free valves. Forcing them open again with t...

Re: Morning!

Welcome along. Get some photos up. I’m not sure what the need for getting the exhaust valves working is, if there are no vacuum leeks, leave them alone and enjoy the extra noise, especially with the roof down on your way to your next hair appointment. Cheers  I leave for work before 6am and...
