Re: HPFP Connection
Just to close this one off I can confirm the equivalents ordered as above fit like a glove, I don't have a retention clip on bank 1 still but its a tight fit with the weatherproof seal so we will see how it goes. Those pumps are expensive just for the lack of retention if I can get away with it.

Re: HPFP Connection
While waiting for the part from Germany, its left the seller, but not arrived in the UK yet, I butt-soldered the broken socket-pin and 'offered' the connection up to the pump. Bit Heath Robinson but good enough for a test (definitely would not consider a road trip, without the back half of the conne...

Re: HPFP Connection
Aaah, so you are referring to the interface between the pump plunger and the cam follower, not the camshaft interface, I see

Re: HPFP Connection
Good heads up Jim, thanks. That'd be a rocker cover off job to check, sods law the side I think is noisy is the side with the fine oil separator on it
Lets just hope it quietens down when I fix the regulator connection, assuming its squeeling (intermittently) due to a lack/bad connection ...

Re: HPFP Connection
So a quick update, I have found a seller online listing these as equivalent; MCON 07P973702 , FEP 42811400 and they do look the same apart from the crimp retention mechanism which shouldn't affect this, so I have ordered a pair (so I have a spare) to see if they fit, watch this space ... s-l1600.jpg

Re: HPFP Connection
Good news - managed to track down the part ref; 4F0973202
There are some available (prewired with 6 inches of cable sadly) from Germany, but Im still trying to track them down as an unterminated kit of parts to re-crimp in place...

Re: HPFP Connection
Part 31 on this diagram looks like it, but the opposing banks loom does not have one and I think this is under the inlet manifold anyway so for something else... and ths site does not list any ref for part 31 anyway... HPFP Connection
Here's a frustrating one, the High Pressure Fuel Pump connection (to the regulator N276) has a bit of an issue. Now I have trawled through all the connector diagrams on ELSA and I cannot for the life of me find a part ref for this one. The pumps are identical both sides, the other connector is sound...

Re: Oil change washers
Ok so sometimes I even surprise myself; updating my repair log for work done on the convenience module and find I did log the seals at the major service way back @75K - this may be of help if your plug arrangement is the same as mine... and if I recall the Elring part given here is a damn tight fit ...

Re: A lot of lag
Not your main issue but - Your leaking in the cam cover could be the solenoids for the variable cam timing, thats an easy fix (relatively, its all relative for the 6) to replace the o-rings if it is

Re: Oil change washers
I keep threatening to measure them every time I do them but just havent gotten round to it before they end up in the 'bin' post change (I have a kit of various sizes I use for my cars). Not helpful I know sorry but either you will get an answer from someone to help us all, or I will let you know whe...

Re: J393 Convenience Controller
Just thought I would update you guys on this one, a snippet you may benefit from... So after a test drive it would appear that the steering controller 'found its mojo' and started to function exactly as it should. I can only surmise that the variables that the controller 'reports' for steering angle...

Re: J393 Convenience Controller
Ok so this is frustrating me now. Gone out to have another look at this and the issue is expanding. The boot opener no longer works, it did previously after I changed the controller, and Im getting the G85 steering controller fault code, thats new. Checking the steering angle in the ABS module group...

Re: J393 Convenience Controller
And the other obvious anomaly, which I was expecting, is the car knows I have changed the controller and has flagged it as not security coded (its part of the suite of security controllers). However that doesnt stop me from running the car

Re: J393 Convenience Controller
.....Not really, I now have a couple of error codes unrelated that will not go away, I am putting them down to low battery and the fact I havent run it since charging yet. But I also have gone from one fog light down (reason I was changing teh controller in the first place) to 5 damn lights down, go...
