The trouble lies in that Audi changes it’s recommended oil based on climate, and what they as a company can get a good deal on at any particular time. I’ve just out shell helix 0w30 in because I read somewhere it’s thinner and therefore moves faster and cools better. I’m convinced my oil isn’t cooling correctly so thought I’d try it. FYI no difference that I could tell.

I haven’t worked on those systems on this engine before so can’t say with any certainty. But if I was to guess, I’d say fuel pressure sensor has gone. Those high pressure rails but regulate somehow (probs using that sensor). So now it’s guessing, and underfueling. Probs change the faulty sensor first.

Also, I’m assuming you want to keep the cost down and just read codes now and again. If you’re actually working on the car.
