Re: 4.0TFSI Turbo failure

Thanks for the info dasquade. Interesting. I wonder how many more [strainers and/or turbos] will fail worldwide, and I wonder how many have failed in the UK, as we won't get to know about most of them, as not everyone frequents a forum. I suppose cost is the reason Audi decided not to do a recall on...

Re: 4.0TFSI Turbo failure

The mod from JHM looks interesting, although I can't see where the filters are. Presumably they are removable easily to allow cleaning. I've fired off one or two questions to them. I will add, and I've forgotten to mention this, is that my car has always lost a tiny amount of coolant. It went back t...

Re: 4.0TFSI Turbo failure

Thanks a lot guys for your info. Paul, presumably the latest strainer would be supplied then, meaning 2017 on? Do you know the difference between the 2015 FL strainer and the 2017 onwards? If this is the cause, then it's depressing news that something this small and relatively inexpensive can cause ...

Re: 4.0TFSI Turbo failure

Interesting post. In fact very interesting for me as both my C7 RS6 turbos have recently failed. We were cruising back home from the Isle Of Wight. We did 600 miles of steady driving, mainly motorway, got caught up in traffic 30 miles from home when there was suddenly a misfire and a intermittent ra...

Re: Wet carpets both sides C7

Hi all, Sorry it's been a while, but I did get this sorted - no thanks to Audi. The main dealer diagnosed a previously blocked plenum chamber, and kindly suggested I should fit all new carpets, control unit in footwell, wiring loom for said control unit, and a seal. Cost - £2700!! The sunroo...

Re: Wet carpets both sides C7

HP Sauce thank you for this. Spoke to Audi UK again yesterday and told them everything - again - and they're supposed to be calling me on Thursday. I can't get my head around the fact that in a modern car water can get inside. My only other experience of this was my Mk 2 Escort back in 1983! This is...

Wet carpets both sides C7

Hi everyone, Thought I'd share with you my woe.😖. Car is at the dealer as I speak, and has been for over 2 weeks. It is a 2014 car with a Audi warranty till the end of January. Water is running down from behind the dash and soaking the carpets both sides. First of all they said there was a blockage ...

From GTR to C7 RS6

Hi all, Picking up a 2014 RS6 on Monday after over 3 years of GTR ownership. Not 100% sure if I've made the right move, but I did love the drive last week. So different - refinement, smoothness, not to mention build quality, and that V8! My first V8 and first Audi. So time will tell if I 'gel'. My G...
