Re: Inlet manifold
It can be done, but it's a hassle. The inlet plumbing on the back side of the manifold has to be disconnected and moved away to clear, and it's all a tight squeeze. Also need to disconnect the fuel lines and remove the wiring harness from all the injectors. Definitely helps to have two people to hel...

Re: intercooler options?
I went through a similar analysis and landed on the Wagners. It may be possible to get comparable results cheaper by going custom re-cores, but the in the savings was not worth the potential hassle. Regarding the CF shrouds, they are definitely a struggle to fit. If you look at the stock shrouds, th...

Re: £1000 discs!?
I'm pretty sure I've heard that the R8 standard and RS5 wavy disks fit our RS6s They do, but the R8 disks are not side-specific. They use the same rotor on either side and I believe the right side runs "backward". Maximum cooling is probably less of an issue with the lighter, rear-engine setup. Tha...

Re: coolant radiator, part number ending in F
I'm helping a friend over here in the states with a leaky radiator right now, and we are finding that the leak is in the plastic tank that would be on your drivers-side (our passenger side). Local radiator shop says they can't fix it. Regarding the extra pipe, it appears to be for the coolant afterr...

Re: Loss of brakes
I don't believe in coincidence that the vac-hoses have recently been touched. Have you tried spraying carb-cleaner or starting fluid around the manifold when the car is idling? If you are having vac-leak issues, you should get a surge in RPM when the fluid gets near the leak. Try go get under the ma...

Re: Car won’t boost more than 5 psi, boost leak?
Is it an engine out job to deal with the mounts correctly? I wouldn’t think so. I would imagine you could lower the subframe while while keeping the engine raised to allow access. Any more thoughts on the engine mount being my issue or what I should be looking for when logging? The fact that the EC...

There is user named "nubcake" on RS6.com that can sort out your ECU. I used him for my 6-speed swap and he was very reasonably priced and easy to work with.

Re: Intermittent P1555 fault code
Yeah, and unlike pretty much everything else on these cars, it's pretty easy to get to. Just remove the air cleaner assembly and it's hanging off the back of the intake manifold.

Re: Intermittent P1555 fault code
N75 was the culprit when I was getting that code. The valve had not completely failed, but was slow to react, so under hard acceleration in a higher gear, it would throw the code and go into limp mode. Other possibility is a leak in one of the various lines to/from the turbos. Replacing the N75 valv...
