Re: P0597 thermostat fault "Thermostat for Mapped Engine Cooling"
Just confirming as promised - I had this fault code, ultimately resolved with replacement of the thermostat. Part number 079121115BL. Took my mechanic 4 hours of labour, and the engine light went off and did not return.

Heated electric mirrors dying
Hello, The heated mirrors on my 2013 RS6 have stopped working, and they've also started getting "stuck" intermittently when they fold out. Normally I just flip the little button and they'll unfold correctly. However, the heaters have never worked. I do have a VCDS log entry for them. Has anyone else...

Re: Coolant leak under my 2016 RS6 with only 60'000km
Maybe they could keep the car overnight in their workshop and they'd see the leaks for themselves?

Re: Intermittent misfires on idle - what to log?
Yea I had a good read through the other misfire posts. I can confirm that 8 coil packs and 8 spark plugs didn't help, so I've ordered 1 exhaust actuator to fit on cylinder 7 (the worst one) and I'll report back if that helps. I've also heard that the fuel pumps can fail on these cars, so perhaps wha...

Intermittent misfires on idle - what to log?
Hi folks. I've got a 2013 RS6 which has had some misfiring when the car is idling. Normally this happens after a drive, and when I park up I can hear the engine stumbling. I get about 10-15 misfires then it stops. I'm looking for some advice on the logging. I've been looking at all sorts of sensors ...

Re: Hello, new member. Exhaust opinions please.
This video has me sold on the Scorpion for my favourite sound, but the fitting quality isn't as good as the Milltek. For me, the Akrapovic is out of my price range so I wouldn't even consider it.

Re: RS6 C7 weight 2085kg
It's brilliant Danny. Much more stable than my previous tow cars (Sorento, Trooper, Q7) but I'm sure there are better options. The biggest challenge it has is the weight limit at 2100kg. A heavier car would be better. On the plus side though, the mountain of torque and the massive brakes make it a l...

Re: Centre resonator delete testing video
Hey Tom, I don't think I'll be able to do that back-to-back test. It's getting a bit pricey! It costs me £60 a run on the dyno, and god knows how much the mapping will be! Once the car is mapped for the decat, maybe I could run with no filter as someone else suggested. That might test if there's any...

RS6 C7 weight 2085kg
I hope I can continue to be useful. I took my empty RS6 to a public weighbridge, and it came out at 2180kg which includes my 95kg fat arse and a full tank of fuel. So, 2085kg for a fuelled-up C7 RS6, for anyone who is curious or needs to know. 20200908_104742.jpg The reason I was there, is because I...

Re: Centre resonator delete testing video
It's the sport exhaust, which a previous owner added. It didn't have that on the factory spec sheet, but it definitely has the black sport exhaust now (which was taken from a 2017 car, according to the part number).

Re: Centre resonator delete testing video
Good recommendation for me Mike. My daily driver for years was a Subaru with straight pipes, no cats, resonators, or mufflers. I enjoyed it, but I do keep ear defenders in the car for long journeys. Fortunately I don't live in a place which will piss off the neighbours either, so I can be somewhat s...

Re: Centre resonator delete testing video
This is why I'm videoing the different combinations - most of my cars have been decat, so I'm used to the drone. I hope to find out just how wild the RS6 is with no cats in. Hopefully it's so loud that I have just a little bit of regret, but not enough to go back.
