Re: B7 with ceramics on EBay
Yes also on autotrader, spoke to the sales guy, 7 previous owners, but more importantly no paperwork with car, history etc. Sales guy said an ex formula 1 guy was interested in it? , but obviously he didn't buy it as that was a couple of weeks ago! Was owned by someone on this forum also, but they d...

Re: Coolant Loss
the hydrocarbon test can be a red herring dependant on type of coolant used-seek a 2nd opinion bubbles into expansion tank can be the system bleeding through after being emptied a good bit the rs4 system would be hard to properly pressure test all items due to its design need to get it up to temper...

Re: Coolant Loss
Hi tommo, just wrote a lengthy post but failed to appear but will write a shorter bullit points here, Asuming nothing else can cause exhaust gases can get in to the coolant system, then head gasget failing is what it is. I'm assuming you have not had the car long, but this could have been an issue w...

Re: Timing chain replacement
The rs4 v8 timing chains/engines are built to last till 150k "on paper" according to audi I believe, and as mentioned above its the a4 v8 that suffered from timing chain issues and need replacing much sooner, do you have a link as to where you read this, cheers.

Re: Oil leak, any ideas before I get it checked?
Hi Alex, congrats on purchase., nice car! Get the O rings replaced that connect to the block from the oil cooler, that would be my first port of call as you are doing and seems like the cause of the leak, but use genuine audi O rings! Over time rubber (o rings) expand and contract to the point they ...

Re: Engine for sale
Hi Jon, I'm assuming gearbox/prop/exhaust is still attached to engine, so that would be an issue for me getting it out? I would imagine not a pleasant job to do on the floor on axle stands, if possible at all? I would think it needs to go on a ramp to remove the above mentioned parts first, before ...

Re: Clutch pedal doesnt come up
Mine did a clutch pedal issue. Turned out to need the pipe replacing between the master and slave, when it gets hot the rubber section in the middle goes soft. Best cure is new master, slave and pipe. Audi don’t bleed the clutch when they do brake fluid, mind you some of the techs don’t even do the...

Re: STOLEN - Daytona Grey Avant - RS04BMX - Hinckley, Leicestershire
Hi Shaun, don't take a hit with the insurance company trying to give you a low pay out, if that's the case and normally is, you have only owned the car 5 weeks after all, no devaluation in my eyes! Fight your corner you sound like a guy that does, and don't let the experience put you off getting ano...

Re: Viewing car Oil Cooler Pipe Inspection
Yes it's such a crucial part/component of engine that should have been made better, but it is what it is, unfortunately. Will certainly be the first thing to check upon me buying an RS4 if I couldn't get it checked out before, 1k for oil cooler/pipes is one thing but an engine rebuild/replacement do...

Viewing car Oil Cooler Pipe Inspection
Hi all, is it possible to view oil cooler pipes through the front bumper by eye, or using a bore scope camera? Or is the only way bumper off/undertray off, thanks in advance!

Hi Shaun, sorry to hear about your car, just stumbled across some pictures of what I believe to be your car, doesn't look in good shape at all, and like you say when all the little things get added up, it will or has been written off, such a shame! On a lighter note I hope the girlfriends ka is perf...

Re: Alarms
The Pandora does look good, I like the warn away, when someone gets within a few feet of vehicle and sounds a brief alarm, and the fact you can shut down car even with your keys and mobile being stolen, from posts I read a lot of the low lifers break in to your house to obtain the keys! I think thie...
