Re: Bill 17 hours to replace control arms

It’s one of those jobs that can either be relatively easy or a royal pain in the @rse. The combination of British weather and salt means any job that requires removing nuts and bolts can take far longer, than it would do otherwise. Just getting the pinch bolts out of they’ve seized can take a couple...

Power steering cooler 8E0422885AD

Hi All, All my usual sources of hard to get parts, don’t seem to be able to get one but does anyone have any leads for a new or mint condition, second hand power steering cooler, 8E0422885AD? They seem to have joined the ever increasing list of “No Longer Available” parts. Any help would be grateful...

Don’t laugh but Foliatec Elephant grey is a perfect match.

Paint code is L167 Oxygen Silver I am told by various people on the FB forums.
Well that's a new one. Not trying to be a d!ck but I've never heard that before. It's always been Le Mans Silber/Silver L1H7.

I reckon OP means B9 RS4 as he states 2.9
That’s what I get for attempting to reply to a post at 4:30 in the morning, without any coffee. :bash:

James,

You’ll probably have more luck posting your question in the Audizine.com forum, which is aimed more to US based Audi owners.

Re: Lambda sensors

Here you go..VAG part numbers

Pre-cat sensors, both-1K0998262AA

Post-cat, passenger side-022906262BQ
Post-cat drivers side-022906262BM

Also, I misspoke when I said it was the pax side of the car. B1 is drivers side and B2 is pax side, on a U.K. car.

Thanks for the info Kenny.

I'm assuming all 4 sensors are the same part number?

Had a look on Eurocarparts, there are two different Bosch ones?
No, they’re not the same part number. I’ll have a look and post the numbers laters.

Re: Lambda sensors

You’ve got at least an issue with the downstream O2 sensor on the passenger side of the car. The B1S1 error may be from the issue with the downstream sensor. So, you’ve got two options either replace both downstream sensors (Sensible to replace them in pairs) and see if the B1S1 error goes away or j...

Re: Any fixes for chrome trim tarnish (bar painting)

Autosol metal polish. The standard stuff. In the black and gold tube. Not the Alu version in the silver and blue tube. Works like a champ at getting rid of the milkiness.

Funnily enough, I got some after someone here recommended it. Been using it ever since.

I had this but it went away after I changed the lower O2 sensors.

Re: Esp/abs fault help

Not trying to be a dick but a simple google search pulled up a thread in a US forum with this exact code being caused by a bad MAF. Don’t ask me why but for some reason the ABS system ties into the MAF. The switches behind the clutch and brake pedals don’t throw codes, typically, which is why they c...

Re: Additional S Button.

You can but you’ll have to recode the steering wheel to a comfort steering wheel and then you’ll lose all the functions on the FBSW. The dash mounted “S” button will work, though. It’s the opposite of what I’ve done on mine, as it’s a US car and I’ve retrofitted a FBSW. The only alternative involves...

Can’t remember but isn’t the option for the bolsters in the cluster options screen. Maybe it got reset.
