Re: Rear brake pads

No, VCDS needs to be used due to the electronic hand brake, you can try it that way but you will end up wrecking the handbrake servo.

Re: Rear brake pads

I installed the Brembo ones in the rear. Had no issues with them and seemed to work as well or better than the standard ones with no squeal apparent in the time I had it. Also a little less brake dust than OEM. I also had the DS2500's on the front axle as you do mike. Seems a good combo. P.S. Mike, ...

Time for something new and very, very different!!!!
Go on then, what?? Tesla??
Electricity is involved but not fully electric, I'm keeping a 320bhp supercharged, turbocharged 2l petrol and adding 90bhp of electricity. Oh, its also Sweedish.

Saying goodbye to my RS6 Performance

So, after 2 and a half years of ownership, I have had to say a mixed feeling goodbye to my RS6 Performance. The first 2 years were almost faultless (bar the usual front brake disc warping saga) with many enjoyable spirited drives and the odd supercar destroying moment. The last 6 months, however, ha...

Re: Front brake pads

Like Mike, I installed Ferodo DS-2500 pads and find them very good indeed. Again, like Mike, at the same time I installed braided lines and new Motul RBF 660 fluid and the transformation was like night and day for me. My brake fluid had gotten pretty bad and found the brake pedal going away from me ...

Re: Do I need new discs???

The grooves on your discs are nothing to worry about, this is normal for steel discs especially drilled discs. The only real way to tell if new discs are required is getting a vernier caliper and measuring the thickness of the disc. If its below the minimum thickness then you need to replace them. T...

Re: How does your gearbox behave?

My gearbox is very similar, 4th to 5th in manual under load can sometime feel like I've hit a brick in the road but its not just in manual these days. Gear changes in Auto in comfort, Auto and Dynamic mode can be very clunky and when engaging reverse it feels like someone has driven into the back of...

Re: Lack of Boost and engine response below 2,500rpm

Just a quick one for you guys with a Performance Edition, does your car overboost all the time or do you have to be in Sport mode on the gearbox? Just got mine back from the stealer with no faults found and no improvement but I did notice on the drive back that when Im in sport mode, the boost gauge...

Re: Lack of Boost and engine response below 2,500rpm

I just tried it. 30mph and 1600rpm is in 5th. Mine feels slow on this test too as it is way to low a gear for that speed. If it was in auto you'd be fine and be in triple digits in no time but in manual and in 5th then you might as well be in a 1.4 diesel. mine does go straight into overboost and b...

Re: Lack of Boost and engine response below 2,500rpm

I wouldn't expect much boost below 2500rpm. That sounds normal to me. However, you say it feels different so sounds like there is a fault. Not wanting to state the obvious but have you checked to make sure it is in Dynamic and not Comfort as that will affect throttle reposnse which could be describ...

Lack of Boost and engine response below 2,500rpm

Hi Guys, I am suffering from a very strange issue with my RS6 PE and just wondering if any or you guys have suffered anything similar? When trying to accelerate with anything less than 2,500rpm, there is very little power/torque available and when looking on the boost gauge, there is almost no boost...

Re: Gear change clunky

So, following on from having Audi conduct a 'Standstill Adaptation' (basically a reset of the gearbox and controller), I can safely say that the issue I had disappeared (at least for a couple of days) and my car felt like a new car again. Gear changes were swift and snappy, the engine felt stronger ...

Re: After Market discs

What was wrong with the standard discs? Mine have done 24k and still going. some people have reported aftermarket discs didn't perform any better so best choice is to use better pads and fluid or retrofit ceramics. The OEM discs arnt vented correctly, VAG in their quest to save money use the same c...

Gear change clunky

Hi all, I have just taken my car into the Stealers complaining that the gear change (regardless of drive select mode selection) has become very jerky and clunky. Thankfully the stealer agreed with me and carried out something called a 'standstill adaptation'. Anyone got a clue what this is or had it...
