Iv got underneath and listened while the car is running I can hear something round the middle of the front

The alternator sounds quiet as it's right at the bottom ....

I'm running out of ideas now I'll be done my an oil change tonight so will look for any boost leaks

Hi chunky79 iv had the car about 2 weeks power steering fluid seems to the correct level with the green hydraulic fluid innit looks clean .... Yes it increases with rpm soecially when I change gear down becomes more apparent ...

Gearbox is shifting ok don't seem like any issues there ?

How do I check the oil level ? By removing the plug while car is running ?

No smoke blowing boost fine can hear the noise after the car has warmed up ....

Power steering maybe ?

How did u identify this ? Iv got the same issue and think it's the pump...

Aircon don't work needs gas will be doing that this week

I did suspect a pulley or tensioner but if I rev the car in idle it sounds fine

On load sounds like a supercharger

sure, i had a big read up on this as i know its not an easy task.

ok will need to get under there at some point.... have a feeling its a connection issue............

Also just to make sure... how much gear oil does the gearbox pan hold? and how much does the total gearbox hold?

Sounds like it's a poor connection on the loom connector. Higher battery voltage can allow more current to flow through the poor connection masking the problem somewhat. Possibly. You could try cleaning the contacts, but that doesn't always help and you may need a new set of connectors. Would this ...
