I think you are referring to the same thing. :)
My car has now 60,000km and it runs just fine, but the noise is still there.
Dealer confirmed the car is OK.

Regarding the discs, just do a couple of hard braking maneuvers and it will stop.

...I decided to go for AP discs...
By the way, I assume that when going with bigger AP discs, using 20" wheels is out of the question, just like with ceramics, right?

Re: Standard brakes cost

I was quoted £1750 by Audi for the parts only. As I had nothing but trouble with the Audi brakes I decided to go for AP discs with Ferodo Pads and BG Developments bell housings. All from BG developments as they have provided kits for quite a few RS cars. Just all fitted last week, bedding in so wil...

I got a full set from Audi Crewe - pads and discs, front and back - for £1695 from memory.
So here you are talking about an official Audi dealer and the price you get at the counter, right?

Standard brakes cost

I have been quoted by the official Audi dealer in Croatia €4,400 or ~£3,700 GBP for the complete replacement of front/back discs and brakes.
Non-ceramic, standard.

I think the price is absolutely bonkers.

Can you guys share how much did you pay for the standard Audi replacements (not upgrades)?

Re: Future RS6 owner

I would go for facelift version for sure.

I bought mine new in 2016 and will move on to the new C8 after facelift.
By that time all the kinks that come with the new model have been worked out.

If you’re keeping the car a while, who says ceramics aren’t worth it?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Being that for the price of 1 ceramics you can roughly get 5 sets of standard discs and pads, unless you track the car it's really not cost effective.

Re: RS6 C8

We are talking about a span of 7+ years until C9.
I am really surprised you would be willing to drive 10+ years old C7 until then.

Re: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 295 30 21,anyone fitted ?

The depth of a tyre , in this case 30, is a percentage of the width. As the wheel size is fixed, if you increase the width and keep the depth % the same, you have a bigger rolling radius. If the radius is bigger, then the circumference will be bigger too, so the tyre will travel further for each re...

Re: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 295 30 21,anyone fitted ?

Reading on the speedo is now actually closer to the reading by GPS. What does the speedo reading have to do with the tire width? Here's the pic uplandsway, that Dave was talking about. https://scontent.flhr4-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/46451072_10157090838593933_8635813213612539904_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&_...

What markp said!
Been "prepping" the tips with ACF before each winter and after 45,000km they still look brand new.

40,000km here and only one oil change about a year ago.
Now I am at about half the level since the last oil change.
And the car sees mostly 100mph+ speeds.

Re: Braking Problem In The Wet

I do not have ceramics and have experienced this multiple times (only in wet), it has been mentioned on this forum before. Our cars are equipped with a brake booster that sometimes reacts when it shouldn't, Chris Harris had this same issue (he even had a car towed to the dealer coz of it) and discus...
