Re: Gearbox behaviour/TC lockup

It really is a strange one. I was accelerating hard in 4th yesterday, changed up to fifth, which was fine, soon as I let off the accelerator the revs dropped about 1k (as before), so I'm fairly certain there is a slip. It's just not that vicious, but some reason doesn't affect the pull lol!

Re: Gearbox behaviour/TC lockup

Which is what I thought, but the gear indicator was still showing 4th! (When it does it in 5th it shows that it drops down the 4th most of the time!!)

Gearbox behaviour/TC lockup

Thanks peeps!! To be honest, I never load the box up like that, which is probably why I never found it before yesterday. Before the map I would of never been able to, as the box would of dropped a gear or 2. The oil was changed about 8k miles ago, last September timeish. Is it worth getting it done ...

Gearbox behaviour/TC lockup

Afternoon all, Quick question regarding how our box 'behaves'. Something that was bought tommy attention my a friend whilst on the way home. So cruising along in any gear, put your foot down and the revs jump about 300-400 revs? Not necessarily slip, the revs jump up , stay there and you waft along....

I'm not too bothered about shouty, it's the weekend wagon so it can be shouty! I just want some more crackles and pops!

Re: MOT and it passed...

How easy were the sport cats to get on? Do they have no pre cats too? What's the noise like from the exhaust? I'm looking for something with more pops and bangs tbh.

I'm sure I have a blow on my downpipe, so perfect time!

Re: New here - Plan on buying.....

One more thing, (if you do go for it)

This place has some really great posters and really, really know their way around these cars. I've been plaguing them with silly things for the last year, and I haven't been told to eff off yet, and I've learnt a hell of a lot from them!

Re: New here - Plan on buying.....

Plus, don't be put off straight away by cheap cars, or even cars which have slightly more mileage. I paid 6500 for mine last year, needed a couple of little bits doing. I've done 10k or so in the last year, and she has been brilliant. Big costs to look out for. Cambelt, it's a ridiculously short tim...

Re: Rs6 close calls ( vs )

You see, I never get anyone up for a play in Kent, there's far too many morons doing 40mph on NSL roads or foreign truckers on the M20/M2 to make it worth while but I had a really good tussle with a well driven modded RS3 on the way back from a Santa Pod RWYB day a few weekends ago along the A45 Du...

Re: Dead gearbox advice and options.

I must admit, I know quite little about Torque Converters, but surely it's a bit likely getting refurbished clutches?

Re: Dead gearbox advice and options.

Think twice about using AMD. Chap on here done some research, and found the company that does the box refurbs for them. Went direct to them and saved himself a bit of money.

Got it mapped, it started slipping after that, so MRC down tuned it a bit. Turns out they use reconned torque converters too.

Re: Bose sound system

Also, i used vagcom to code my Bose to think I have cloth seats, which makes it a little louder with far punchier bass. Was very impressed with mine after that!

Re: No More PS2 R01

I'm running PS2 with the M01 (Marc SL63 IIRC) fitment. Apparently they have the same tyre compound, I never used the R01 but I'm impressed by them!

I did grind the knobblo off tho
