@ jockthedog - Has the silver alcantara interior, any tips on how to clean maintain ?
Screen must have a fair bit of darkening!
I just replaced the alcantara on my front seats as they looked so worn and dirty. See my recent thread for details.

best colour too! Black interior will be much easier to maintain than the silver, too.

Re: Gearbox reconditioned

The workshop was once someone else's band practice room and as such has double plasterboard and insulation all round and yes, some very oily carpet on the floor. I do intend to rip it up eventually and replace it with plastic like you see on the left. Best part was it came with double sockets every ...

Re: The car i said i was buying....

good shine on that! Grats on your purchase. Just leave your wallet here :) I'll be interested to see what you get for the satnav replacement. I have xcarlink out the back of my RNSE. It works, but not 100% perfectly. I need to switch to Radio and back to CD to get it to play my ipod, unless I wait w...

Re: Gearbox reconditioned

I had to get the thing from my workshop to a trailer, and nobody was around to help. Used a pallet as a kinda ramp, as the workshop is up a step, and I'd also made a dolly which was very handy indeed. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4552/37705658494_f7f0121052_z.jpg IMG_0601 by jockthedog , on Flickr...

If I remember right, Chesters handle collection & delivery. Cranleigh Freight Services, in my case. Ya just gotta have it strapped to a palette for them to collect...
140kgs of heavy, that is! I needed a engine hoist to move it around myself.

Re: Need help with some DTCs

MAF is a common issue, and could easily produce the 3rd error too. Easy fix, if not that cheap.

Re: Alcantara replacement/renewal

Wrapping this thread up now. Got the seats back yesterday and fitted them. There is a trick to getting the front of the seat locked into the right position for the bolts. You send the seat all the way back and then you HAVE to send it fwd a couple of inches, to allow the front part to slide home. Ca...

Re: RS6 Stolen

In the words of Kenny Everet, "round them all up in a field and bomb the bastards"

Police should give all the owners a square go before arresting the cnuts.
Not easy to steal cars with knees and hands that don't work. Smash em up w a hammer.
THEN they can go to jail.

Re: RS6 Stolen

Any <beep> trying to steal mine is in for a surprise atm.
No steering wheel or front seats :)

I have plenty of weapons in the house if they decide to try to take my keys. And 3 dogs, some of them very fierce ;)

Gutted for you mate.

Re: Alcantara replacement/renewal

My S4 recaros were 35kg each - these are slightly bigger and have heating, but I reckon 36 or 37. If I get a chance I'll stick on on the scales. Battery schmattery :) I did wait a wee while, but not intentionally :) I think it's more important when reconnecting everything tho. The inside lights shou...

Re: Alcantara replacement/renewal

Seats are out. Well, still in the car to keep them dry, but disconnected from it. Easy enough job - Remove the headrests. Send the seat forwards and prise off the plastic covers at the rear of the seat rails. Pull out at the base and then wiggle a bit, or push a flathead driver down between the cove...
