Re: Looking for a RS6 or GTR... Advice needed...

I owned a GTR from new in 2011 for 18 months. Yes, it looks exciting and goes pretty quickly but there are a huge number of compromises. I found it uncomfortable for long journeys, very noisy inside (general road “hum” rather than exhaust) and too stiff for everyday driving. Hitting a rough bit of t...

Re: Trip to Germany and Limiter

I'm surprised at the reaction to this post. The reality of the situation was this was a very quick blast up to the limiter with no traffic to contend with - we slowed down considerably as soon as we saw any other cars, never mind got close to them. My wife is extremely safety conscious and will rout...

Re: RS6 (C7) Sports Exhaust

Hi and welcome. The sport exhaust has polished black tips vs the chrome finish on the regular exhaust. In terms of spec, its personal preference, but for me the following were important: - Pano sunroof: really brightens the interior - Parking pack advanced: its a big car and the top-view camera is e...

Re: Trip to Germany and Limiter

wouldn't be doing 180 with my kids in the car no matter how stable!... That's because you have some respect for your kids,I can't believe anyone would do that with children in the car Let alone admit to it on a public forum :bash: This was on a very quiet autobahn, straight road, dry conditions. Th...

Trip to Germany and Limiter

Just got back from a trip under the channel, through France, Belgium, Netherlands and on to Germany for a family wedding. Car was superb throughout and I cant think of anything more suited to this trip - easily carried all our luggage, extremely comfortable and just eats the miles. I managed to find...

Re: 140miles in and......

I believe the difference between BMW and Audi is that the RS6 engine is run in on a bench beforehand - so the load has already been applied before you receive your car. I expect the initial oil (which will contain the shards and filings that naturally flake from a new engine) is then changed in the ...

Thanks again for the comments. I see you backed out of going merlin purple - please rethink again, Stafford had a merlin RS4 in when I collected my car. It is such a beautiful colour!

Re: Its here

Ohh that's nice, I was unsure about glacier white on the 6, but this looks epic. Thanks for the comments guys. I was unsure about white too (I wouldn't have ordered this colour) but am really pleased with the car. I have written up a comparison with the M5 (with a couple of extra pics) here .. http...

Its here

Picked up my new RS6 today! I was sorry to say goodbye to my M5 but after 250 miles in the audi, I am certain I made the right decision. I saved myself a 6 month wait by finding one in stock at Stafford Audi with a close to ideal spec. Mark there was very helpful. Spec is: - Glacier White - Black op...

Re: Newbie, pickup tomorrow, dealer questions?

Sepang - very nice! I would have gone Sepang had I ordered, but also found a dealer-ordered car available immediately rather than wait 6 months. The 10 day wait has been hard - can't imagine what 6 months would be like!

Congrats. :beerchug: I am picking mine up on Saturday.

What colour is yours?

I have no answers to your question (first Audi for me), but interested in others' replies.

Re: New to the fold

Thanks guys. W8, I had seen some of your posts about the rejected M5. You will love the LCI I'm sure - I enjoyed mine but I get bored too quickly and it was time for a change. I would have dropped the Assistance package and opted for red brake callipers if I ordered new. I was thinking Sepang, altho...

New to the fold

Hi All, New member, having just bought an RS6. Been running an F10 M5 for the last 2.5 years, had an '11 GTR before that for 18 months and an E60 M5 for a couple of years before that. Been meaning to try an RS for a while - I nearly bought a B7 RS4 when I got my first M5 in 2009. Anyway, I have been...
