Time to say goodbye
Well guys, its been a blast but the time has come to let the old girl go to a new home. I've enjoyed the RS6 (most of the time) and been frustrated with it on numerous occasions (when it goes wrong). I will miss the surge of power from the V8 and the growl from the Millteks. Its been a lot of fun. A...

Traction control light
Coming home from South Wales on Saturday, the traction control light came on. Nothing else, no limo mode or other warnings and then when I restarted the car, it went out as per normal. Just another Audi quirk perhaps or maybe an ABS sensor on the way out? I've scanned the car for faults and nothing,...

Re: Alternator
I'm going to have a chat with the guy at the local garage who does the work on our other vehicles. He's a really good mechanic and 100% honest so I trust him to give me an honest answer/price.

Re: Alternator
Best place for a new alternator? ECP? They are selling a Lucas 150A one for about £315.

Alternator
Hi Just driving home and my alternator light came on along with all the gearbox warning lights and gearbox seemed to be in limp mode. Limped the old girl home and switched off. When I restarted the car, gearbox seems fine but battery voltage is around 11 volts and nothing seems to be coming out of t...

Re: Decent general garage, Cov/Leamington
I used a local garage to me for oil and filter change, Arbury Coachworks in Nuneaton. He changed my oil and sorted out the issue with the ARB. He's a decent guy who knows his cars and doesn't rip you off.

Front brake pads
Hi I've decided that my front pads need replacing (well the car has decided) so I'm looking for the best pads to get. I only do normal road driving so no track stuff. I'm looking for a pad that gives good performance in terms of stopping power with no fading but will also last a good few miles. Any ...

Switched 12V in the rear?
Hi all and Happy Easter I'm fitting a rear view camera to the back of my Avant and I need a switched 12 volts. I really don't want to wire directly to the battery as tempting as that is. I'm assuming that there must be a switched supply for the stereo but just wondering if there is something a littl...

Re: Best engine and gearbox oil
In terms of engine oil I use Castrol Edge FST 5w40. Asda is actually about the cheapest for it at the moment. I think it was £38 for 4 litres or £12 for 1 litre. Halfords was more. May be cheaper online?

Re: External temperature sensor
Anyone have a diagram or photo showing the location of the sensor. I've had a hunt all around the front of the car and I can't see anything that looks like it could be the ambient air sensor.
It was so obvious in my old 911

External temperature sensor
Hi Guys Well another question on the lovely RS6. Can you tell me where the external temperature sensor is on the RS6 avant please? I haven't had a look yet as I'm constantly out of the country so time is an issue. Mine reads funny, like 16.5degC when there is frost all over the car so I'm not 100% s...
