My RS4 had been difficult to shift into gear for a few months, but I never got to the point where you had to rev match in order to shift. Are you grinding any gears? My shop first tried to just replace the slave, that didn't work so they then replaced the master, and it shifted even worse. I suspect...

I managed to find an OEM set in excellent condition on Ebay Germany (no yellowing or scratches- look brand new). A bit more expensive that the other sets I was looking at, but the condition was superior. 355 Euros.
