Thanks all for some great replies and constructive comments ! I am driving round in a crappy N reg beemer at the moment and it just aint the same. Debadged with a tracking device seems to be the concensus especially as I keep coming to the conclusion that another S4 is the way forward. Just gotta se...

Dilemma

As an avid reader of this forum I feel obliged to share my recent loss with my fellow S4 owners. Until last week I was the proud owner of a 2001 B5 on a 51 plate - a car which I had dreamt of owning ever since I realized that I had to combine the practicalities of impending fatherhood with the need ...

I had a similar problem recently and posted a thread here looking for help a few weeks back as it has been driving me mad. My symptoms were exactly the same but its finally sorted after a few trips to various garages. I had a crack in one of the ABS rings but in order to check this they had to remov...

I have currently got a similar problem on my Avant. When braking at low speeds the pedal seems to give very slightly and brakes seem to be grabbing sharply causing all occupents to surge forward. Its almost as if the brakes are applying themselves. I have taken it to 3 garages now and had mixed repo...

Hi Andy - I am a recent S4 owner too - took mine to Awesome GTI in Irlam for a cambelt change and service - was pretty impressed, check em out on the web www.awesome-gti.co.uk. They are definately they place for all your tuning needs, seemed very knowledgeable too - I could have spent a fortune in t...

Minor / Major problems ?

Hi all - looking for some help please... Recently my brakes seem to be biting even under the slightest pressure. I am not sure if this is the ABS or not as my previous cars whilst they had ABS havent really been high performance motors and I only experienced a slight vibration when the ABS kicked in...

Dealer vs Specialist Service

The time has come to do the cam belt and 75k service on my yr 2000 S4 Avant and I have had a couple of quotes. The cam change is same price at both dealer and specialist ie about £500 but the sevice I could save £200 by getting it done at Awesome GTI in Manchester. Just looking for some guidance as ...

Audi Specialists in North West

I live in Bolton and have just had a rather steep quote for 75k cambelt and long life service from Smith Knight Fay. Anyone know any specialists local to me - Manchester / Preston area ?

Wheel laquer

Hi all, I bought a 2000 S4 Avant about 2 months ago and the seller pointed out to me that he had used wonder wheels and some of the laquer had come off in patches on two of the alloys (17" Avus). I wondered how best to get this sorted ? They are only small but I like to keep the car clean and having...

Too good to be true ?

Hi all, I have been researching the site regularly for the last few months and found it most helpful with a view to purchasing an S4 Avant, my budget being 13/14k. Having recently found one at my local "sports and perfomance" garage that fits my requirement I now have a few reservations. Its a Dolph...
