B8.5 S4 Avant wanted (bought one!)
Hello. If anyone has a pre-loved S4 Avant B8.5 that they are about to get rid of could you possibly consider selling to me :) I was all excited and drove miles to test drive one today, was told it was a 'Sunday car'. Presumably they went to the tip every Sunday in it as the boot was battered on all t...

C5 RS6 For Sale Spares/Repair SOLD
NOW SOLD The time has come where it is no longer practical to own this car. We are coming into winter and I need something more practical when I stop riding my motorbike and not in need of repairs that I no longer have the time or the space to do. I’ve owned the car for six years, its now done 145,0...

Re: Headlight bulb blown = engine out?
I think there's a post on here where someone's worked out how to change the bulb by going in through the tailpipes........

Re: What does this mean?
It means that the repair falls into the 'cheaper' end of the scale than if the cute little picture of an engine comes on (replacement gearbox in progress...am feeling a bit cynical). It also means you don't get to hear 'that needs doing while the engines out'. Sigh. Roll on Wednesday

Re: S4 B5 Avant for sale Spares or Repair - SOLD
In the spirit of the forum I thought you might look me to hear how this story continued.... The car was repaired by its new owner( the mechanic I now use for my new car) no easy task by all accounts either. I've since been taken for a ride by the guy he sold it to and it goes like a rocket again. I ...

Re: Am I blind or are the Xenon on our RS6 very bad ?
Interested in where this thread goes as I've always thought the lights were rubbish. Admittedly they are better now they aren't aimed at the floor (thanks again Carl) and maybe it's the fact I'm travelling faster than the speed of light.....feels like it anyway....but if an easy upgrade is going to ...

Re: ROADSIDE CAMERA IDENTIFICATION TRY THIS LINK NOW !!
It looks like the ones in Derby town centre that they have watching bus lanes and bus stops, buggers got me with 4 sixty quid fines before I received the first notice. Since there is a bus stop in front of the building it might be to catch people using it to drop of or collect and commit that most h...

Dash cams, you tube and that video
I suspect we've all seen the various posts of the bloke who filmed himself and in an ill advised moment posted it on you tube. The police were then able to work out where and what speed...admittedly they only had to look at the speedo footage but you get the idea, knowing where it was filmed they co...

Re: Easiest Way to Get MP3 in C5 RS6 with Nav+
Xcarlink here too. Mine is connected via a desk docking station mounted just in front of the gear lever. I removed the ash tray. I've only got a little one though.....the iPods small too...so it doesn't get in the way of the heater controls. Get the Bluetooth one and it gives you hands free phone as...

Re: Daily Driver or Garage Queen?
Not quite daily driver as it sits on the drive most days but I generally treat it like a normal car....I don't wash it very often either. I'd like it to be spotless and drive it every minute of every day but life's not that straightforward..

Re: EPC & ESP Lights on than loss of power
I had what sounds like the same problem. Loss of power when using cruise control. It was a poorly fitted turbo pipe. I am told its the way the brain works out what speed you are doing, it confuses it if there's an air leak and decides thers a fault. It may not be the same problem....but it sure soun...

Re: Unlocking door with key
I've just had to use the key for a week or so on my 6 and it was the same. Key only unlocks drivers door and you have to put the key in the ignition to disarm the alarm. Other doors would only open using the button on the drivers door.
All fixed now though (thanks again Carl)

Re: Bike carriers / roof boxes
I've got a massive Farad roofbox on mine, on crappy square profile halfords own bars. Admittedly its probably not as quiet an original car as those with newer rides but over the kids, the road noise and the stereo the noise difference is minimal. It possibly did in excess of the recommended 80 and I...
