Re: Knocking suspension / DRC?

Got my car back today and it definatley seems much better now :) The guys at Swift were very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable about the car. We discussed their interaction with the warranty company amongst the DRC system and recharge process and they mentioned the coking on the heads too being...

Re: Knocking suspension / DRC?

Just an update - Went into the garage yesterday morning. Needs both nearside shocks and 2 flexi pipes. The warranty company has agreed to cover both shocks, and the recharge of the DRC system at something like £870 inc VAT. They don't cover the flexi pipes so I'm having to pay for them at around £11...

Re: Knocking suspension / DRC?

I'll try them if there are any problems with Swift as I'm all booked in now and going away tonight until the RS4 is due to go to them. Does anyone know if its general Audi policy to not co-operate with third party warranty companies or if its just the one at Silverlink (also part of Benfield Motors)...

Re: Knocking suspension / DRC?

Thanks for the recommendation at Perth Audi. If I have any issues I'll try and book in there as Silverlink Audi giving me a 1 month wait to see my car doesn't inspire me with confidence. Also there's the matter that they insisted they wont deal with my warranty company at all, I don't know if Perth ...

Re: Knocking suspension / DRC?

Just spoken to Swift Motor Engineering to confirm that they do have the equipment to recharge DRC. the person that answered the phone seemed a little uninformed but put me through to the workshop and the guy I spoke too seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. He also confirmed they have th...

Re: Knocking suspension / DRC?

Thanks for the advice. I'll ring them tomorrow to confirm. If they can't I'll see if another Audi dealer can get me in any earlier, or if I'm willing to sort my own courtesy car. Below are some pics of the shock through the wheel for those interested. http://i.imgur.com/Z6Cc1xY.jpg http://i.imgur.co...

Re: Knocking suspension / DRC?

Dropped it at Kwik fit just to diagnose so I can see if the warranty will cover it, though if its the shocks it should be covered. DRC is more complex than normal shocks and needs specialist equipment to re-pressurise the system, not many Audi specialists have the equipment so I don't expect KwikFi...

Re: Knocking suspension / DRC?

I just took it there because they're local to get it looked at ASAP. I'll take a picture when i get the car back but I've been called to confirm the rear left sock is gone. I think the word he used was "exploded". They said they cant get the part and it would have to be an Audi job anyway, but now I...

Re: Knocking suspension / DRC?

Just had a look around the shocks in the light, haven't had it on a ramp but had a look at full lock and both front aren't weeping and look good. The rear left though looks like it may have blown, theres a load of oil on it. The rear right may have a little bit but im not sure if its normal or not a...

Knocking suspension / DRC?

So my car has suddenly (Literally just this morning)started knocking from the suspension on bumps and feels less damped when driving on the road. I have savage speedbumps on my road, and one directly on the turning so you have to hit it at an angle. A quick Google makes me think its the DRC, especia...

Re: New RS4 Owner in the North East

Haha I was wondering if anyone from here would even know what a Legnum is! They're pretty under the radar. I'm looking at selling it as with the RS4 there isn't really need for it, though I just took it for a quick drive and a 5 min hose down and it's still pretty fun. No refinement what so ever com...

Re: New RS4 Owner in the North East

Thanks guys :) I'm not originally from here, I moved here for uni when I was 20 and got a job here after my placement. Spent most of my life in South Cumbria (which has some great roads if you've not been) and visit family and friends regularly over there. I'm originally from Luton but moved away wh...

Re: New RS4 Owner in the North East

Thanks guys Yeah it is very nice! Did 800 miles in it on the weekend I got it going from York to collect to Newcastle then Cumbria. Used 3 tanks of V Power in the lakes with friends! I'm hoping that's all it needs but i though since it still blows cold when set to cold it may not be. When I get a ch...
