Sudden Vibration

I was driving along a fast B-road the other day and suddenly the car seemed to be vibrating on the near side, so much so that the dash was shaking! First thought - puncture but the car was not pulling. I slowed down and stopped to inspect and found all tyres to be fine and at this point remembered t...

Re: Winter Tyres or Chains for a Roadtrip to Switzerland..

I also drive to ski resorts and would only do so with winter tyres. Occasionally the roads are clear and dry all the way up and you think "why did I bother" but the odd time I have hit proper snow packed roads I would not want to be on a set of wide, low profile summer tyres. Coming down hills is th...

Re: Audi winter wheels fitted

Winter wheels are designed to do a job and if it snows then the thinner wheels/tyres perform better.

I think too many people worry about the look rather than the performance. You can't see your wheels when you are sat in the driver seat so what is the problem?

Good job OP in my opinion.

Re: Fuel tank

It is a shame that the car doesn't have a bigger tank. I have been filling when the light comes on fill ups have been circa £70.

I am on the look out for a suitably shaped flat spare fuel can that I can keep under the boot floor for emergencies.

Re: What next?

Having just bought a 2 year old RS4 I also considered the C63. What put me off it was a) slightly dull looks compared to the RS4, b) although a fabulous engine also a very thirsty one (makes an RS4 positively frugal!) and c) wet weather/winter roads.... If I were in your position (which in a way I a...

Re: Exhaust Rattle on Cold Start

So it seems like a 'rattling bag of spanners' sound for a few seconds on cold start is another normal trait to sit along side knocking suspension from cold. Good job these cars make up for it with everything great that they offer! Saying that, mine is going back to the dealership next week for the s...

Re: Exhaust Rattle on Cold Start

Just checking if this is the norm or something to raise with the dealer when my car goes in shortly..... When I start it from cold and you get the involuntary engine blip it is followed by what I can only describe as a metallic rattle for a second or two before the idle settles down?? Seems to come...

Re: Roof bars and bike racks

Had our two bikes on the roof for the first time today - easy to put on/off but a bit more flex than I had anticipated! They can be moved side to side an inch or two at the seat when pushed. Regardless they stayed on for a 40 mile round trip but went quite gingerly. What sort of speed on a motorway ...

Re: RS4 ownership one week in

Just had a look on Camskill as well and they show OE Audi tyres in 265/35/19 as either Dunlop or Continental - no sign of Kumho. Having searched the tyre I have I came across it on mytyres at £116 each so you can see why the dealership might have chosen to fit them! I will have to see how they go bu...

Re: Hello from New Owner (Nearly)

I really like the cut of the 19 inch wheels too.

Apologies for my ignorance but not sure if my car has DRC or not.... I have a choice between dynamic, comfort and auto suspension in the 'individual' drive select but is this DRC? I know I don't have sports pack due to the 19 inch wheels.

Re: RS4 ownership one week in

Thanks for the replies. I am not 100% sure what my car has regarding the exhaust. I think it is standard but certainly seems to sound 'gruffer' when you select the dynamic mode. By the way, the dynamic steering when on feels very odd. It was on when I picked it up and going along the motorway on gr...
