Re: Considering B7 RS4
Thanks. I keep thinking a b8 s4 is the sensible choice and I'm sure I'd be happy, until the day I see a b7 rs4 and wish I had one

Re: Considering B7 RS4
I would agree, above 5k rpm is was much better, helped by the noise of cause. It's one of those normal decisions, head and wife says 2011/2012 s4 with sports diff, heart says RS4.

Re: Considering B7 RS4
I've driven both b7 rs4 and b8 s4 as another option. The rs did feel quicker than the insignia, but not by much, much nicer drive and better in the corners though.

Re: Considering B7 RS4
Thanks Adrian. Been in touch with Antony and he seems very helpful. The only thing that worries me is the proximity sensor setting the alarm off when a cat goes near the car or someone getting out their car in a car park.

Re: Considering B7 RS4
Very good point, I've also been looking at alarm systems with all the seats and wing mirrors going missing. Does anyone have an aftermarket alarm, been looking at the viper system from secure my car, appears to be quite good.

Re: Considering B7 RS4
The milltek does sound amazing. Just don't want it to be too loud or the wife's nagging will be louder than any exhaust going!!
Already getting hassle for wanting to change a two year old car for a 7 year old one and have to spend money to do so.

Re: Considering B7 RS4
Thanks again, something else to check when looking at any new car, checking if the valves work correctly.

Re: Considering B7 RS4
Thanks very interesting thanks. Would be good to see the same figures for a stock exhaust, but good to know it's a bit quieter with the valves closed, which I assume is linked to the sport button?

Re: Considering B7 RS4
Thanks guys very helpful. Some of the cars I'm looking at already have milltek systems which is why I'm looking at prices. Would have to see how loud they are as don't want anything to loud with it being a daily car and the family car as well. Current one that interests me has milltek valved non-res...

Re: Considering B7 RS4
I am currently with Churchill. I had a new exhaust and remap on my insignia around 6 months ago and advised them at the time. Added it to my policy for free so I was very happy. Got the renewal yesterday And its gone up £700 from last years price, so can only assume its this that's caused it. Did a ...

Re: Considering B7 RS4
Many thanks. Nice rs4 but after one with the full bucket seats and ideally that's not been modified as the jump in insurance for just an exhaust is extreme, doubles the quote

Re: Considering B7 RS4
That's no problem. Taxi lanes can be quite useful and I'm sure my 6 month old will be able to help with the sick smell if required.
