Re: Need new clutch :(

I've been told the dual mass flywheels are harder to properly resurface and they can come apart and fail and cause major damage to the transmission when they fail. It's one of those things, since its taken apart, might as well spend money now to upgrade and not have to worry about it for a long long...

Re: Need new clutch :(

My vote goes for JHM R-series clutch with stage 1 disc and a lightweight single mass flywheel.

Re: Quest for the Wholy Grail (Answers to "Sticky" Clutch is

My clutch failed though. When we took it apart the friction material was gone. Pressure plate adjusted to compensate for wear and masked the failing clutch til it left me with no clutch at all.

Re: JHM Tune

APR has a tune as well but it doesn't have the launch control feature. Everyone here that has a JHM tune has been very happy with it, noticeable power improvement and the launch feature that consistently launches car for racing. I plan on ordering JHM tune after my custom exhaust.

I download them as torrent files.

If you are dying to see, search for Street Outlaws S03E01 through S03E07.

Re: Quest for the Wholy Grail (Answers to "Sticky" Clutch is

I couldn't find anything wrong and the new clutch is brilliant. If there is some more info maybe it will warrant replacement of clutch pedal assembly but I am saving money for a custom fitted exhaust next. I would like to take the final slack out of pedal but it is driveable and I can live with it.

Re: Street Outlaws series 2 - GTR wipe out or not?

I just finished third season of this show. Guess you guys are maybe behind if only season two. Anyhow it's entertaining and I enjoy it more than some of the other garbage reality based shows that are being broadcast.

Re: Street Outlaws series 2 - GTR wipe out or not?

Rumor is the black nova runs the 1/4 mile in 8 second range at 160+ mph. They are race cars that race on street. I guess that makes them street cars but not daily drivers. They trailer them to the race road. They use a road by an airport that gets shut down for the show, so yes it's a real street. N...

Re: Quest for the Wholy Grail (Answers to "Sticky" Clutch is

My clutch pedal also sits higher out than brake. It rests against the cutout in the lower plastic dash cover. It has a little slack in it before resistance. About an inch or so of free play I can notice when driving but it doesn't seem to affect drivability and always returns all the way up. Maybe I...

Can't believe a definitive answer to this problem doesn't exist yet. Good luck and I hope the problem gets fixed for you. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/600838-New-RS4-Owner Audi stock RS4 pressure plate is a self adjusting design, it was the cause of my problems. I have replaced clut...

Re: Quest for the Wholy Grail (Answers to "Sticky" Clutch is

Apparently over time the engine heat takes a toll on the plastic piece so the aluminum slave cylinder should be more durable in the long term. A lot of US RS4 owners have dealt with the clutch issues too. When I found this site and started reading I saw this post and had to join to share my experien...

Mine was part of the slave cylinder and clutch line kit.

The line itself is here:

Re: Quest for the Wholy Grail (Answers to "Sticky" Clutch is

I only drove the stock clutch for 1 day. I do recall it feeling firm and then some times it would be spongy during shifts. I thought it odd. The next day it failed. The new clutch may be stiffer pedal but I don't find it tiresome to work. Even my girlfriend drives the car and never complains that th...
