Re: Changing the Battery
Sorry guys, not been on much so didn't see these posts. Finally got it done on Saturday there. I had to buy a long ball end allen key (5.5mm I think was the one I used). That could fit down between the gaps and into the battery bolt at an angle. Took a fair bit of turning as it's a long bolt but got...

Changing the Battery
Hi folks. I've bought a replacement battery and have just tried to fit it. It looks like the clamp at the front of the car is only accessible by removing a solid metal bar (Strut brace?) which is over the top of it. Surely this can't need to be removed in order to change the battery? Seems like a he...

Canbus Control Module- Auto gearbox
Hi Guys. I've got a little problem with my auto box S4 B7 05 plate. It's changing fine on auto but not responding to manual and the cruise is also now not working. I've hooked it up to VagCom and got the code 02071 Local databus no signal. Been told I need to acquire a replacement control module. Th...

Re: Cylinder misfire
Had to get the car re-mapped to get the check engine light reading sorted so if something else goes wrong I'll know. It's going like a train now. Increased power again and more torque too. Goes very well from 3K up

Re: New rims, tyres and brakes. Oh and some engine covers. P
That looks brilliant. I wanted them for mine. It is amazing how a good set of wheels makes the arches on the S4 pop a bit more. So much so it is difficult to tell the S and the RS apart. Lovely car.

Re: New Brakes
I called Demon tweeks and got Black Diamond discs with Predator pads last April. They had just came out for the S4's. So far they have done me ok, although I feel it doesn't matter what discs or pads you fit, the brake set up on my S4 is not good enough for the weight of the car. Braking from very h...

Re: Cylinder misfire
All sorted Marc although I did have a lot of engine work done before this. I was sold a lemon in my opinion. No thanks at all to Ron Hodgeson Cars in Up Holland. An interesting and rather puzzling fact though. When the mechanic went to all the bother of dropping the exhausts down to get the precats ...

Re: Cylinder misfire
One word. Awesome!!!
Pick up is amazing and the car feels so much more powerful. The noise is a bit better in the inside of the cab, but you'll all know as I do the cab is very insulated from the outside sound, so outside is way better sounding too.
Recommended without a doubt.

Re: Cylinder misfire
All stock at the moment. I have decided to gut the pre-cats (that's the problem). My mechanic can change the settings in the ECU using VAGCOM so the car doesn't keep thinking it's fooked and the light will go out. So more power hopefully, and a better noise too I'm thinking? Cheers for your input. :...

Re: Cylinder misfire
so quick update for you. The rubber gaskets were goosed and brittle, oil was seeping into the cylinder. All sorted. Cats are knackered though, so rather than replacing them, what are the options? Cars doing in a power of fuel so need to change a.s.a.p. 200 miles to a tank at the moment as opposed to...

Re: Cylinder misfire
I think you might be right here SI, as this has been ongoing since before I went to Le Man in June. It started using oil in a strange way and we couldn't pin point the problem. At least I'm hoping you're right.... I also erased the codes yesterday which is the first time since replacing the MAF and ...

Re: Cylinder misfire
Ok, Update time. Got a new plug this morning from ECP. Took out the old one and it is totally black and coked up. Put new plug in, and started up. Misfire gone but big plume of blue smoke out the exhaust. Obviously buring oil which is in the bore. About 2 weeks before I went to Le Mans in June, the ...
